So I've been playing around with Cat C4, which has 2 missile hard points in each arm with the missile tubes for one hardpoint located behind the missile bay doors and the tubes for the other hardpoint located outside the missile bay doors. Obviously when the weapon located behind the doors is fired there is a slight delay while the doors open, but the other weapon fires instantly because it is unaffected by the missile doors.

I wanted to put an LRM10 inside the doors and an SSRM2 outside the doors, but no matter what I try, the weapons mount with the SSRM's behind the missile doors and the LRM's outside the doors. I've tried loading just the LRM's and saving. This makes the LRM's fire from the tubes behind the doors (the way I want it), but then when I go back into the loadout screen and add the SSRM's, it automatically switches the locations again.

Does anyone know if there's a way to get the LRM's inside the doors and the SSRM's outside the doors? Is there a way to set which weapon is in which missile hardpoint in a single arm?

Sell all of your LRM10s and SSRMs then save. Go back in and buy the LRM10 when you add it to the arm then add the SSRM2s which should lock them to the LRMs being in the bay and SSRMs outside of them.

What? I have to sell them? That's crazy. But it works, definitely?

You could also hit the "/" key to manually toggle open the doors.

That's not really the point. I don't want the missile doors open when I'm firing the SSRM's. When I'm firing the LRM's I don't really care.

Unfortunately, not always.. but in 9/10 cases it does in fact help. THe cause of the issue is the way the game tracks equipment, but I`m a bit too tired to get into that now.... maybe someone else can pick up the ball...

Glad to help. From what I have seen on the forums there is a hidden variable on every weapon that when a weapon is bought and placed in a section for the first time it writes to the weapon RTMP1 or something like that saying right torso missile hardpoint 1 and that value sometimes will not change so that when you try to put it on a mech now where how you place them matters it tells the game that it is supposed to be in spot 1 instead of spot 2 where you place it. This works with any mech where it keeps track of placement. Had the same issue with my Griffin where the LRM5 and LRM15 were swapping spots and had to use the trick to keep the 15 up top. Good luck and good hunting out there.
