Wb, it's nice to have a good player come back.
A notable list of changes huh....
Well, SRMs hit registration is bad, making ppc and ACs the new go-to weapons.
Gauss Rifle has a charge up time now and can explode (though i think that was in when you left), making them being irky when brought to the battlefield (still used though).
PPCs and ACs have had their projectile speed changed several times, with the ac10 and ac20 changed the latest patch. UAC/5 jam also got changed.
New hero mechs, notable ones are Dragon slayer and Misery being brought into the comp scene often.
Highlander is king of the poptarts right now.
12v12 is a huge change from 8v8. Individual skill has less of an impact vs a team's overall performance (aka its harder to carry your team now).
A lot of competitive players left MWO to take a break until some content comes in.
Content wise, they made a command chair post with a timeline of their objectives (but we all know how that went, right?)
Hitboxes of multiple mechs have been tweaked. Harder to get that headshot / center torso on several big frames. Atlas and catapults are good exemples.
Artillery and Airstrikes are a HUGE factor now in the competitive scene. It's way spammable (once every 10 sec) and does 40 damage a shell with multiple shells being in a strike. We've often seen mechs being headshotted or weapon crit with a single strike and having their armor full. Oh, and it's mostly RNG with infinite range.
Seismic sensor got nerfed, but still basically a wallhack for snipers and campers.
Coolshot 9x9 still as good as ever.
That's all the important changes I can think of. As for the old members you used to know, I'm sure Villz or co. already msged you but just in case :
DV8 dissolved and a new "group" got formed called the LORDS. It's technically is a membership club that consists of the best players in MWO (aka anyone can be a LORD, unit doesn't matter). Not very well liked right now because they had a tendency to spam "LORD NAMEHERE, GG CLOSE" at every game start, regardless if they were playing a meta mech or a troll mech![:P](https://static.mwomercs.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/tongue.png)
Chances are if you want to play with your old teammates, look towards LORDS.
Like I said earlier, a lot of competitive units/players have disappeared or joined other groups. Right now, top competitive teams are (probably) Steel Jaguar Gaming, Swords of Kentares, Blackstone Knights, 228th.
I would presume HBA or LORDS (if they can be called a unit) would be in there eventually but they havent joined any leagues or tournament yet.
It would also be interesting to mention that right now, a couple of units are being formed by merging top players from several semi-competitive units together. So we're about to see better units come into the competitive scene (hurray!)
And that's about it. Feel free to toss me a random invite sometimes in mwo! It's been a while I've played with/against you and it'd be nice to (try and) dodge your lasers again.

Welcome back, Koreanese! Hopefully Soy will be tempted to come back if he sees you playing again!
I agree with everything Araara said. I guess I'd just add a quick note about these "phoenix" mechs. The Shadow Hawk is the best of the bunch, so far. The Battlemaster is decent, the Thunderbolt is not very good and the Locust is horrible. I don't know about the Griffin or Wolverine yet.
Generally, gameplay is still ruled pretty much by the high-alpha meta, but grouped AC2s and ERLL are making an impact. Missiles are still on the low end of the weapon type triangle.
Looking forward to seeing you out there!
