I know that a lot of players are looking forward to Community Warfare, I am too but what happens when a faction loses all territory?

I know that in other games, ie Planetside 2, a similar play is in place. Three factions have to fight for dominance on the continent. Problem is that when a faction starts losing, many of the faction players run off to a new server and the faction loses everything. What then?

My suggestion is to add a few single player missions to keep players entertained while the final factions fight it out with the ability to earn c-bills and exp as normal.

What are your thoughts, flame away ^_^

Not their focus at this time, or for a long time. Let them come out with this game first please.

They can't even add new game modes (real ones) in a timely fashion, and you want them to script single player missions with AI etc?

They stated that we won't actually be able to change the storyline, and won't be able to take capitals, etc.

Well for one, you can't lose everything in Planetside 2, just everything up to your continent's warp gate. Which by the way, you've got two more continents and if your team is losing all three... well they just suck at that point sadly and in that case I'm sorry. If you have nothing but your warp gate keeping the pressure on will let you break out eventually. It does sometimes take time. Though it would take exponentially more if everyone went to go dink around single player missions.

The reason this isn't a great example though is that you exist in literal space in Planetside 2 most of the time. Whereas in MWO the matches are just representative of locations. You're still going to get 12v12 fights wherever it is on the map you're supposed to be at and from the look of it you'll probably still be able to have fun winning matches even if your team isn't expanding it's territory.

There are two minor issues with adding your suggestion though. First, is that this is a multiplayer game. That's the big one really. The second is simply a question of resources. It takes a decent amount of time (which equals money) to make polished single player content and they have to be able to get a return on that. Most games do that by charging $60 up front.

If you gave everyone free access to the singleplayer content then it gets harder to make your money back from making it. If you charge for it in a F2P game then you sort of defeat the point of having it. One of the incentives to buy things in a F2P is the fun created by having all the free players too, have them playing single player and you just remove them. It just seems counter productive.

I like the thought of having single player missions, maybe co-op missions like other games have dungeons as this game by itself has little character as is, but I don't see being bored like that as a huge issue. I mean worst case instead of taking planets I might be reduced to what we have right now for an hour or two. I just don't think in this case the scenario you described would be all that bad.

I like this idea personally.

Their Dev team seems to be spread quite thin enough. Let them actually produce the game at hand before nudging them off down a rabbit hole.
