You don't actually need to buy ANYTHING, EVER, in this game.

People who don't pay do just as well as people who have put hundreds of dollars in. They don't get to that point as quickly, but that's what paying does -- it accelerates the process of getting to top form.

Basically what Durant said.

This is a Pay-To-Speed-Up kinda thing. XD People who put in the time can have basically everything that a payer can have. Only difference is that BOTH of them gotta buy bays/premium/hero/champ stuff.

But those give you direct advantage in battle over anyone else.

You basically just are paying to speed up the grind.

And the grind isn't that bad in comparison to a lot of F2P games out there. So just keep crackin' and killin'! You can do it! Make good use of your 25 fist games bonus as well!

If you also type in "HAPPYHOLIDAYS" in the Redeem section on the website, you can get 7 free days of Premium still!

Just about the only thing you need to buy is mechbays and that if you want to build a stable of mechs. They cost 300 MC which works out to $1.50 or so (depends on the MC package you get).

Otherwise almost every mech can be bought with C-bills. The MC only mechs are not more powerful, they are just different, and most people agree better options exist unless you want the built in XP/C-bill bonuses.

Outside of the Phoenix package (I couldn't wait for the Shadowhawk, then every other payday I talked myself into another $20 upgrade, ie need more Heavy mechs, then I said I didn't own any Assaults etc), I only have one mech I paid cash for and that was Sarah's Jenner and since it was for charity I was happy to do it, and it was a happy coincidence that it turned out to be one of my favorite mechs. But you can buy the same mech (minus the paint job) for c-bills.

Point being you pay to reduce the "grind" but if you have fun blowing up big stompy robots, there really is no grind!! ^_^

After your first 25 matches you get enough CBills for one mech due to the cadet bonus. For some, one mech is all they will ever need. The hard part is making sure the first mech you choose is the right choice for your playstyle.

The price of the first mech is zero dollars, a.k.a. free. After that its up to you whether you prefer to earn through battle or purchase with money.

Sorry, but your post seems rather vague to me.

Are the prices high? Yes, I think so. But you don't have to buy anything and in fact, I would recommend that no one buy anything until they've sunk some serious time into this game and decided if it's something they feel like paying for.

Yes, I have bought stuff, but only a little at a time and only because I enjoy this game and wanted to.

iv payed for about 130bucks worth of mc so far, no packs yet ( considering clan ) there is some classic mech types in there, things from the old mw2gbl days which have a place in my heart.
