[18 Inches of Hard Steel]

Many of my friends on MWO are casual users, they don't spend hours on and off MWO tinkering with builds like myself and most of the vets on here. As a result, they find the new Mech Building Interface extremely difficult to use. Going through your components one by one is counter intuitive, rigourous, and, requires some memory skill.

I was happy to see, at the beginning of february, that the devs would implement the obvious fix to this problem:

"The "Smurfy" layout that the community has been asking for will make its first appearance in March. Below is a mock-up of the current plan for initial viewing. This is a placeholder mock-up but should give you a general idea of what to expect when the feature is distributed to the live servers."

But where is it? I havent heard a word in a long time, maybe I've missed the inevitable push-back. This layout is needed for new and old players alike, I hope we get an update soon.

We have a 'layout'.
You click 'Mech Details' in the Mechlab.

The functional one is supposedly in the next update or two.

I don't know why they couldn't have implemented a functional one in the first place.
Or had more work done after a year on UI2.0.
But hey, it is what it is, and the Smurfy layout should be here soonish.
