I know there is a trick for altering a file to change your FoV (Field of View), but I didn't see any recent suggestions about it.

What I am suggesting is rather simple, can PGI at some time consider, or work on, a slider option in the game option menu to change the FoV?

My suggestion would make it easier on those of us who don't like to change game files, as well as would eliminate the need for threads on the forum telling people how to do this change. I personally feel that the FoV is too close to the windshield, and I wouldn't mind it placed back a little bit, but I'm personally not comfortable with changing game files that might make my game go "poof!" if you know what I mean.

Just a thought I'd bring up.

(Edit: So much for that poll I was trying to add in.)

great idea, was thinking of messing with that recently ironically - even better if you could have a zoom slider setup for each zoom level in the options

I'm sure I'm not the first to think of this. I just didn't see any previous suggestions of it, but that also doesn't mean there wasn't one somewhere on here...

Zoom slider effects... I think would be too much. I feel the zoom works well as it is.

FoV is how "close" you are to the "glass". It doesn't effect how much you see. (Basically, it adjusts the cockpit back and forth, but not your actual view of what you see outside that cockpit. Like, leaning forwards or backwards when you drive...)

So kinda like, whether you bought the bucket seats or a recliner option?

Kinda, but probably more like, how far forwards do you have your seat positioned in your car. Are you right on top of the peddles and steering wheel? Are your slid back farther and have some room between you and the dash?

If you want to grasp what I mean, look around your cockpit sometime. Press Alt (I think it's Alt) and move your mouse. You have all sorts of monitors and graphics in there, but you can't see half of it because your face seems pressed against the front glass of the canopy.

A lot of people already mess with the cgf file to pull this back, with PGI's permission. I'm just suggesting that PGI consider making this an in game option at some point, so everyone can more easily make these adjustments to match their preference. It doesn't otherwise effect overall game play.

Basically, if you want to give people permission to do so, just make it an option in game, kinda idea.

i just mean there's 3 different zoom levels we all use, and in settings we should be able to choose what zoom level each of those 3 zooms are. but then again if we could use the rollerball to zoom in/out with, then we wouldn't need any zoom levels

I don't mind the current zoom mechanic, except for how Advanced Zoom is a different button from normal zoom... but that's a different issue altogether.

The current zoom levels are 1.0x, 1.5x and 3.0x. I don't quite grasp what you mean by changing these, as I don't see the reason nor need for doing so would be...
