* Cuniving : 2 tags dar1ng?

* Ragnadumb : lol 2 tags, why?!!

* I play Gianna sisters : chu'know dare, having 2 tags provides no additional bonus.

* Retardparade : fool, why 2 tags?

* Real names changed. Sample trash type cleaned up.

So why 2 tags Daring One, you sexy muscular beast?

Well fellow mech fighters, back before state rewind and when lag shield was in full effect, I would use tag(s) to adjust my lead timing so when the little + appeared it would let me gauge when to fire direct weapons.

Also, if you lack a little heat discipline, subbing out a med laser for a tag will boost your heat eff.. quite nicely.

And what about if 1 tag location is destroyed, I have a back up. Did you know that if your fighting an ecm mech and your support guy is missiles tag will allow the missiles to lock on and hit that target, omg, no way!

Way! You know that if you tag for your pug team more missiles will head towards your target because, well, like it's tagged chu know.

And now the most important reason is that I simply like it.

Rather, then use the cheese boring AC5 x 2, PPC x 2 combo no skill required build, I play my own game that I enjoy. Don't get me wrong, there needs to be a meta for those that have no skill, (remember 6 ppc stalkers before ghost heat, lol)

but I would rather use timing, skill and strategy and, omg, teamwork to win. Any mech, in the right hands, the right team, and the right timing is an effective weapon.

Play your own game and don't be a mech sheep. More importantly restrain your judgement on mech builds that are "different". Don't discriminate. Every mech is different and beautiful in it's own way, just like every pilot on MWO. (Except Mycrus, he is a 4 fingered...)

I used to have two tags, but then I ripped the one off the collar of my shirt and now I just have the one on my Mech, and it's all I need.

What Mech are you running that you find your TAG laser getting blown off frequently enough to need to bring a spare? I don't think I've ever had a TAG get critted or the limb blown off until it was too late in the match for it to matter anyway. ;) Just my experience with it.

I do carry a TAG on my Cicada 2A variant instead of a 6th Medium Laser, both for helping teammates and to help my own heat efficiency as you mentioned, though. If it comes down to it though, I'd probably choose a heatsink in favor of a 2ND TAG on any Mech.

Good gaming!

I used to have 2xTAG on my CTF-2X, one in each side torso. People would ask me why and I would give them an honest answer.

It looks cool as hell.

What else do you need?

Derp?

You realize that the reason your heat efficiency is going up is simply because you are dropping a medium laser, right? The Tag isn't improving it.

You'd have equal efficiency if you just dropped the medium laser and didn't add anything else.. or if you just didn't fire the medium laser... Honestly, you could drop the tag and add in a heat sink, and you'd have a more heat efficiency mech.

In a game where low placed weapons and sometimes iffy terrain can make it difficult to tell if a visible target will be hit when you shoot at it, a little laser pointer can help to determine if a shot from the same location will hit the target. The effect is not worth the tonnage, especially for experienced players, and the laser is sometimes barely visible, but it's still an effect.

Eh, it's a nice idea but I'm not going to burn a ton off my mech just to get a feel for my hardpoints when I can do the same thing by taking it for a spin in the testing grounds for a few minutes.

I use tag as laser sight on some builds. To know when my weapon have cleared the terrain and stuff. Plus it works really well with gauss, while you charge you lead with tag.

Love how it says in game that TAGs dont stack, because they see ppl use more than one and like wtf.

IMMERSION FACTOR PLUS 10! put both guass and tag on all firing groups and your entire reticle area will glow green when gauss is ready.

I run dual tags on my Stalker. It's a pure missile boat sporting 4x lrm15's w/Artemis. I have one arm mounted and another torso mounted making it almost impossible for me to lose lock due to pilot error (Which is a frequent problem I have). Once I run out of my LRM's I become a heavily armored spotter.

CTF-3D 2 gauss, each gauss has it own laser sight (arm and torso), to let me know, where they point when i jump and if i the weapons cleared the terrain and buildings.

I run 2 TAGs on my STK-5M. The mech has 5E and 5M on it. I use a TAG in each arm so I can hill hump tag people with them and if one gets blown off, I still have a 2nd. I do not use the CT energy slot for the TAG because that would require me to expose most of my mech to use it. So other than the 2 TAGs, one in each arm, I have 3x Medium lasers to defend myself with and can zombie if I have to. This is the only mech I did this on. My other LRM carrying mechs have 1 TAG or nothing.

I just ran this for a few matches on the test server yesterday, 2 Gauss 2 TAG Jager Firebrand. Considering I'd never run a dual Gauss Jager before I think it was pretty successful, regularly getting lots of damage and some kills. I can definitely say it helped to know about where my gauss were going to be able to shoot over/around an obstacle.

With 2 TAGs you can light up two enemies at the same time. If you're good enough to do that, then 2 TAGs are worth it assuming you're in a 12 man and have a lance of missile supports.

Never watched it, but I know that is the case. Better to just watch reaction videos, specifically the ones for Kermit the Frog.
