I just want an updated favorite map list to see how people feel about some of the newer maps.

Is there a map you generally fight better on? What map is the most well designed in your opinion?

For me, I love HPG Manifold for several reasons:

-Three levels of fighting (underground tunnel, the ring, and then the platform under the satellite. Nothing is more satisfying than literally getting the drop on your enemy and being able to quickly run away or take cover.

-Fighting is fast-paced, people rarely get lost or avoid combat.

-the sounds when my weapons go off

-you don't get stuck/fall trying to climb terrain like an {Dezgra}

-I always decimate on this map no matter what mech I use ;)

While I don't always decimate on it, HPG Manifold is my favorite for all of Arc's reasons.

Terra can kiss my sphincter I refuse to play on that map anymore, I never used to quit a match, but well only have quit once on terra I dont play enough for it to be a big deal, but I never liked that map. Just a stupid idea, I mean everyone dislikes heat management enough why make a map to **** us off more?

Caustic and Tourmaline are my favorites.

I very much dislike Canyon and Rivercity.

...gotta have some space to run around!

i like HPG, Forest Colony, Tourmaline pretty much maps i can run around on. alpine and terra are meh though when it comes to that- by the time you finish your flanking move the match is over seems like.

i hate river city anything and while i don;t hate it as much Frozen anything is my worst map overall stats wise (oddly river city is one of my best though),

crimson and caustic don;t really do much of anything for me either way. canyon is slightly above those two.

so i guess
1) HPG
2) Forest colony
3) Tourmaline
4) Forest Snow
5) Canyon
6) Caustic
7) Crimson
8) Terra
9) alpine
10) frozen anything
11) River city anything

So damn sick of Tourmaline Desert - it just keeps popping up match after match. I know they were supposed to have fixed the rotation with this, but it doesn't feel like it. I never quit a map because that would be unfair to the rest of the team, but this one tempts me the most. I can live with Terra more than Tourmaline because at least people don't always follow the same path every single time.

Apart from that the biggest problem with most maps is the, by now, embeded strategy - everyone goes to the same places, by the same routes and the conclusion of a battle can be seen in the first 30 seconds from a teams ability to stick together and support or not. Occasionally a team will head to a different set of coordinates and when the other adapts, that's when this gets fun. It's the close matches win or lose that I enjoy most, but they can be rare, especially since I am in Aust and the guys I team with are in the States and Canada so it's pugs for me mostly.

I wouldn't mind a new map that had some random variables like landing and lauching dropships so at least your cover and routes around the place changed.

.....and just in case I was less than clear - I HATE TOURMALINE BLOODY DESERT WITH A PASSION!

Dynamic maps would really be the next step forward for this game. I hate places like Alpine peaks because there is one, and only one strategy that people will stick to.

HPG Manifold followed closely by Crimson Strait.

I like these maps because a close range brawl almost always breaks out. And brawling is the way of man.
