139 pages of heroism. Thank You sir.

Trying to read all of them. It's tough. Almost 3500 recipients over the last 150 years, only 77 of them alive today. It's heavy stuff, some of it absolutely heartbreaking but it's a good reminder that there are incredible people around still. I deal with upset people for a living who are often in a rage over first-world problems and it's good to remember that the human race still turns out amazing examples of the species.

Agreed.

You know what really bugs me, is Abivard is upset that I count my Dad as my Hero. It must be a shame that he had a father that he could not look upon with that kind of respect. :P

If he

is more of a hero than

Then our world is a very cold and sad place.

I shy away from judgement calls on that kind of stuff when I can but to be fair I'm one of the few people I know who genuinely considered his dad a Hero when I was growing up. You can respect your father, like him, love your family of course but 'hero' is a heavy term.

I'd say it's more an issue of you being uncommonly fortunate.

Then that is truly Sad. But at least I have continued the family tradition with my kids.

It's getting worse and worse with this matchmaker... it seems that always one team has to be the cannon-fodder team -_- :P

I don't feel like outcomes are any different than before. There were mostly blowouts before they loosened the matchmaker. That hasn't changed.

I was thinking about making a post to propose a community driven population and playtime guide. For instance, last night (Thursday evening) was horrible, there was almost no weight or Elo balancing on any match. I regretted setting aside the evening for MWO, and actually quit playing 2 hour early to go channel surf.
On the other hand, Saturday afternoons have been much better. There are the occasional unbalanced matches and blowouts, but those is the exception, not the rule.

Do it. I'm almost through Walking Dead on Netflix and about to start chain-watching Caprica and Battlestar Galactica.

Plus I miss Wispsy. He hasn't tried to claim my life in months.

As I have never been to New York, or Staten Island... Google should be more accurate. :P

This is what I know about New York!

I just find it funny for that to be the first pic if you Google Staten Island. I've lived on Staten Island and it's the forgotten fifth borough of New York and even when you search Google you get photos of Manhattan. Everyone who hasn't been here thinks NYC is all skyscrapers and all that.

Battlestar Galactica.

Fantastic series! I held off watching it forever because I figure it would be a lame reboot. I was wrong, so terribly and wonderfully wrong. It was fantastic. There's a few slow spots here and there but push through them. This series is worth every second.

I like the old weight class system. If one side had 5-6 assaults or lights then your team would have a similar weight. The only thing you had to worry about was if the players were any good.

Use to play many times a week, but now its more like a couple hours a week with 1 or 2 weeks break in between.

I've dropped for around 8 hours since the change, both solo and grouped. I literally have not lost a single game since then.

Joe, as long as you change my words from Admire to hero, you make sense, as you keep knocking me for what I did not say I wonder about you. My Father was at khe san, 3 purple hearts just from there, He told me he was not a hero, he just did his duty as did all those about him. When someone does something above and beyond the call of duty, that makes a hero.

I know of not a single sports player that is a hero for playing a game, there can be no heroes in a game.

mother Teresa is not a hero, she may very well be a saint, but not a hero.

You can be a Fan(atic) about someone, but that person can be anything from scum on up.

You might very well despise someone who is a hero because you do not agree with them, but that doesn't lessen their heroic act.

When you use the word hero, what you mean to say is they are your IDOL!

I pointed out that your father did his duty as he should as a Father, nothing heroic about it.
You then proceed to bash my father, imply that we must have some problem because I do not go around telling everyone how my Father is a Hero so that makes me special, even though he is a hero, and to more than just his Kids!

I have been called heroic,(as well as stupid) but I consider myself neither.

I am however a Marine.

Almost there, Friday night was a suckfest too.
Saturday has traditionally been the best play day, here is hoping there is one good day to play a week.

You have to be kidding me - it was typical revamp drivel with a few cool space fights thrown in. Maybe I'm biased as I watched the original series as a kid, that was just space cowboys and blowing sh*t up - it was great.
  • Starbuck got the girls and the money
  • There would be at least one good dogfight a show
  • There would be a good 'turbo boost' every show
  • The cylons got blown to bits
Fantastic light entertainment. Now it's all feelings and tension and sad faces with some sex thrown in - hardly any good space fights. I am sorry I bought the whole lot on Blue ray - I kept waiting for it to get better.

Oh ELO is a myth too - no one has ever seen it! Some people beleive in it though, but then some people believe anything
