Dear PGI,

I activated my Premium Time recently, but to be honest, I am a little bit disappointed with the results.

I'm still only being credited with one kill per kill-shot. As a result, my k/d ratio is staying pretty much the same as it was before I bought Premium Time.

Given the multiplier bonuses we're buying with our investment in Premium Time, shouldn't we be getting credited with 1.5 kills for every Mech we destroy?

Yours sincerely,
Faithful MWO Customer

:)

Your KDR has nothing to do with Premium time. Experience Points and C-Bills are the only portions affected by premium. Neither your Kill Shots or anything else is affected by premium time; only your total experience and your C-Bills.

Well played OP

The thing that's wrong with Premium Time IMO though is that it's simply an on-switch that keeps going until it runs out.

I've got a job, a wife and two kids. My free time is indeed at a premium. Buying Premium Time to boost the little playing time I have therefore actually made sense. IF I could just switch it off at any time.

Right now premium time is more for people who have lots of playing time already, so conversely don't need it as much to begin with!

Does this mean we get 50% more death every time we get our butts blown off?

Exactly! 50% more kill, AND 50% less death. Now that's something I can invest in ;-)

I think premium time should give me 2 minutes of invulnerability at the beginning of each match

The only thing I get for blowing my butt off in my house is a nasty glare from my wife...

The problem is sales. Sales suggest you should bank time.
premium time has an on off switch. You buy it one day at a time as you need it.
It costs more, but of course it costs more, its more valuable. If you could pause premium time every 24 hours, they'd have to jack all premium time up to the same price, or nearly the same price, as the current 1 day per day, which is probably 2000 percent?
You do the math! (I would, but you have to Have mc to see mc costs on premium). Tl;dr daily is for you.

What sucks is if you have 30 days banked, you cant just buy 1 day of premium time and use the new purchase. You have to use your banked time along with the new purchase.

But I would never buy premium time.
If they double premium times effect, they'll just halve cbill earnings and I'll quit.
15 a month is crazy when it doesn't buy you the whole game while active.
heck, it doesn't even get you paint! Let alone content (hero mechs, possibly premium boosters, possibly merc units and dropships).

Personally, I think they need to add like 10 mc per win to premium time.

Ultimately, mwo has convinced me my hatred of ftp is justified. MWO is NOT an outlier compared to similar games (wot, star citizen).

I agree with the OP.

I have also discovered something interesting about Premium Time after my 90 days I received for buying the Overlord Phoenix package ran out...

I do not need Premium Time any longer. You might not either. (Just FYI easily more than half of that time was wasted due to not being logged in)

My reasoning: I have 32 mech bays. All but 2 are filled. That is plenty of mechs for the average player. 90 percent of the mechs I currently own are mastered out. I have no current plans to buy anymore mechs with C Bills at this time. So the added XP and Cbills that Premium Time gives is now moot.

When players start getting to their own mech limit they too will discover that Premium Time eventually is not needed.

Just helping folks out that might be stressing Premium Time.

Yeah, I'm in about the same spot currently. Sure, I could get myself some Victors or Atlases or something, but I really enjoy the mechs that I currently have and I have enough CBills lying around to purchase any parts and engines that I need to change builds on my existing mechs. I'm pretty satisfies with where everything is right now, so I'm not really feeling the lack of Premium Time anymore.

Now, when Clans come out, things might change a bit. I'm not going to purchase any of the packs, but they'll eventually be out for CBills and I imagine that they will be very expensive. In the meantime I'll probably just keep banking cash so that I eventually have enough on hand to buy one or two when they first launch, and then perhaps think about Premium Time again when the need to grind so that I can purchase the new crop of mechs returns.

I don't know what you are talking about I get a 500%* bonus on kills with my premium time.

* note: 500% bonus only applies to kills whose value = 0.

Premium time seem like the biggest waste to me, what are you in a hurry to master a mech for? To go buy a new one with more time to master that one faster? I've just never seen the point, you're playing either way, just more to enjoy without premium time.

You know whats sad? I'd be totally happy with just 10 seconds of invulnerability. Thats usually enough to get out of test-weapon-groups-and-alphastrike-button-on-your-teammates range.
