It would be great if when your mech was destroyed in game that you would first drop into a teamate mech from your lance (if any are alive of course) to spectate. In 4 man groups this would be nice as I would like to initially see what my buddies are talking about.

In 12 man it makes even more sense, as your initial role is even more defined.

I would also love a free cam mode to fly around the map with and spec in 3'rd person like in CS

Too much cheating. There should be no benefit gained from dying.

i would really like this small change to the first pov you jump into after dying and pressing the "spectate"-button

with the prevalence of private/personal voicecom this would offer way too much possibilites for malicious behaviour IMO ... i like the current way of handling "after death spectating"

I wonder how much network load would be if they added 'observer' slots.

People who arent playing but can observe people playing.

Observer mode would require the players participating to have an option enabled or disabled in their settings to allow or forbid observers.

Would be an incredibly newbie-teaching tool.
