Now, granted, not my favorite dragon variant, I feel this could be a good bit of fun, and has a bit more...teeth than most dragons in raw damage output.
The gimmick is you run out, fire two weapons groups to avoid ghost heat, and use your speed to run away and cool off for another volley.
Armor is high, speed is high, and the heat efficiency is good, but its not a brawler.

DRG-1C
Thoughts?

I saw that on mechspecs.com, I think it looks promising. Also added advantage people will try to shoot your right arm-thinking it has a gun on it. they don't always check the target info....

Could this also be productive, similar fighting style?

Hrm, i think they are interesting, but I don't know if the trade off in firepower would suit my playstyle quite as much.
I think i'd go with the first one in any case.

IMHO a sixty tonner is going to have a tough time pulling off quad laser. If you go that route why not use ferro and bump the engine to a 340?

If you are going hot, go all out with 2xPPC+2xLL. But really, ignoring the Dragon's ballistic arm is criminal. I would ditch 2 lasers, and take a Gauss or an AC10 in it.

The orion K is my favorite for 4xLL

I run it with an XL350 and that gives me plenty of speed plus 22double heatsinks. Having all arm mounted quad larges with a 1.42 heat effciency is quite fun.

The fridge build is a good one, and you normally see it on an atlas. I forget the variant.

Yeah....i know...It is criminal, but Ballistics just take up way too much weight for this build.
Plus....can't stand gauss since the charge up patch.

^If you look at both sustained DPS and max DPS using an AC-2 with LLAS it will be near or better to quad.

Some interesting points here chaps:)
You have to admit, quad laser is kinda interesting thing to try out at least:) As for the AC2+LL I did try something simliar on a hunchback-it did produce some savage dps, quite high heat though on that chassis.

I tend to favour gauss-I absolutely love that weapon. If you can get fairly good at hitting cockpits it can be sickeningly effective.
I liked the ppc builds as well-though I'm not sold on the medium lasers.

I once run the 4 LL setup. Its nice on paper for the dmg alpha, etc...

Problem is in a 1C , you have 2 laser in shoulder & the large laser is a full second duration beam shot, meaning you have to keep aim true or keep standing in open view for some time. (hit and run become deadlier for you or you spread all the laser over 2-3 hitbox as you run around firing like hell.)

Plus you run hot, which will go in overheat fast. Overheat = sitting duck.

Flame is nicer for such a setup as all the laser are in the arms.

On the dual ppc setup, well, you will have hard time against light, fast mech.

I once run a gauss/errppc sniper mech on a dragon.

Less heat then dual ppc when you fire.
