Crashed to Desktop? Fatal Error? Frozen? Let us know what happened here!

Please attempt to respond to the following questions in your responses:
  • Was any error message provided with the crash, if so, which?
  • Where in the game or menus did the crash occur?
  • What steps had been taken prior to the crash occurring?
  • Does the crash re-occur for you if repeating those same steps?
  • What are your video settings, did you change them since last patch?
  • What are your System specs? (You can include them in a [spoiler] [ /spoiler]
In some cases we've seen that deleting the shaders folder and relaunching the game will solve these crashes and related issues.

Simply delete the shaders folder located here by default:
C:\Games\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER\Shaders
Otherwise, please use our new repair tool, which will verify your game directory files and repair any file issues:http://mwomercs.com/...public-release/
Remember to contact us at support@mwomercs.com with your dxdiag for additional 1-to-1 support from our Game Masters!

To find your crash dumps for support, the file is labelled "crashdump.dmp" and the default location is: C:\Program Files (x86)\Piranha Games\MechWarrior Online\USER

Well hey a new patch the return of an old/new issue!

Pure Function Call!

Posted Image

I'd been playing since 10am EST. Decided to close the game which had been sitting idle for about 20 minutes since 11:10am and got this pop up. Only one crash before this one at the end of a match I crashed to desktop when attempting to exit a skirmish match. Funny how these bugs tend to keep popping up?

This error happened to me just now, too, which prompted me to log onto the forums and look around here. I've reported this before so I don't think I'll need to post my diag stats again, but I'm bumping this to let the devs know that the problem still persists.

If you want to get Dev attention, please resubmit support tickets with DXDiag and Omicron logs attached so it hit their queue. Good luck with resolution.

Game Freeze and Alt-Tab crash/kill.

Previously, the video would freeze but sound continued to work.
Alt-tabbing out and back into MWO would solve the problem, and the game could be continued to be played.

With this patch, video freeze and alt-tabbing leads to screen freeze.
Which forces a kill of MWO.
Screen is still frozen until the MWO exe is actually killed and gone.

Not alt-tabbing out would still require an app kill.

No errors pop-up.
Occurrence is non-consistent.

This has been happening to me for the last two patches and listening to people throughout teamspeak servers it is super widespread.

Frequent freezes and crashes to desktop since last patch (the were almost nonexistent for months before). Repairing the installation doesn't help.

My setup: Win7 64bits with i3770k and HD 6900.

...but it also happens on my laptop.

MWO @ Very High @ 1920x1200 - R9 280X Catalyst 13.12 - Win7x64

MWO crashes the whole system randomly to a Screen with vertical stripes of random colours.

Getting random disconnects when launching a game. (Disconnected from server) error that throws me back into the log in screen. Great so now it looks like I'm afking in games. Thanks PGI

Not sure if you changed anything, while doing the red envy sale, you end, but since then I'm getting a lot of game losing server connection or encounter an error messages when the game is loading my mech's into the bays, fortunately no match disconnects though, as for whatever reason once its decided to load and stay connected, it is pretty stable.

I am starting to get the occasional BSOD just as a game launches or just after a game ends, during the transition from the full screen main game to the between match mech lab ui/screen.

TBH, it's memory corruption by MWO at its worst. Consider running chkdsk on the hard drive MWO is on (with the /F parameter to fix stuff) to see how bad it is.

Also consider running the MWO Repair Tool and see if some files are not updated as they should be.

Do the chkdsk stuff or MWO Repair Tool AFTER your machine is shutdown for a bit.
