Obviously not a priority, but something that might be nice is being able to call up the battlemap on a second monitor. This would be especially useful for commanders.

Assuming this capability was put into the game...
Player A has two monitors. He can have one screen in the cockpit with full control AND one screen showing the full battle map. Player B only has one monitor. He can have full control OR the battle map, not both.
Player A has a distinct advantage in game play, whether dropping competitively or just soloing, with no disadvantages whatsoever.
Devs have said they will not do this. Take that with a grain of salt, of course.

Being able to span the default viewpoint across two or more monitors isn't a distinct advantage. There's a bit of an advantage, but it usually comes with some image distortion as the spanning isn't perfect. Being fully aware of both your own situation and everyone else's across the entire map at the same time while remaining in full control of your 'Mech IS a distinct advantage.
