I cast my ballot for the 1st pics "shorty" arms...

The long ones to me begin to look more "organic" / alien life-form 'esk... IMHO.

understandable though the 3039 tro attempted longer more useful arms too. I imagine, looking at the precarious balance that the arms are almost entirely used to secure whatever the raid was for directly beneath the cockpit area, as any farther forward with any weight would be ....bad. I still view them as such, just with longer reach.

Not so much the arms being poorly positioned as the Hussar and its art, constantly asking the question: "Legs, how do they work?" Do they bend forwards or backwards? TRO:3050 has awful inconsistencies in perspective. At least they managed to sort out if it does or does not have a waist. Thanks for that bundle of confusion 3025 Revised edition. If anything though after close study the Hussar should be aft end heavy because the legs are just behind the back of the canopy.
The only image that gives a good view. All the others have safe (read ambiguously horrible) view angles.

and far too porky looking for a lightning fast mech with paper thin armor.

Waist was added because in MWO they all have waists. I tried to set the engine directly over the legs, but with the 5 ton laser (and JJs on the 1000X)hanging a ways back.

God, the official art for that mech is just beyond bad.

Yours looks nice and getting the laser that far back looks like it would be tough to hash out design wise.
I was thinking about the 3025 art.

It doesn't even clear the torso, and the upper leg extensions, and... and wft is up with the upper arms and shoulder joints? No FASA and Leon Gor, just no.
