All it takes are two coordinated Jesters behind your entire line, standing no farther than 300 meters away from your dudes, blasting at your blissfully ignorant rear torsos to make you have a very, very bad day. Mmmkay?

TL;DR:

Do not get so focused on what is in front of you that you become oblivious to what is behind you.

If you're getting shot in the back and you're too stupid to investigate the source of the fire, you deserve to die. Stupid should hurt more not less.

Mmhm. It is rampant stupidity however. The game above, they even had us on radar. Not only was there a failure to react to contacts but a failure to communicate with their teammates. We dropped a catapult, highlander, atlas, and blew off half of a Jagermech before ANYONE bothered to look behind them.

We then proceeded to repeat the tactic in two more games afterwards with a surprisingly high degree of success. People just do not seem to look behind them.

Nothing quite as bad as when a foe gets behind your lines and starts blasting people. Too many folks just don't turn around... I try to be better than that (can't say I'm great, though), and have sometimes turned around to see all sorts of scary things... pop-tarting assaults, dual gauss Jagers... yeah. People need to keep an eye on their 6.

Funniest example of this (for me): In a Jager, all weapons gone and nearly dead. Rest of my team is gone, too. The enemy team has maybe 4 mechs left, and they have fanned out to find me and end the match. Well, I managed to park my Jager in the rear arc of an enemy Stalker and literally follow him around the map for over a minute straight. Team chat was full of "lolz" of course, and eventually, the Stalker stopped, slowly turned around, and killed me. At least I had time to type "hi!" before he did... lol. If I'd had any weapons left (and if the Stalker had been nearly dead) it would have gone the other way, but at least it was funny.

Love it. This is how Jesters should be played!!
They're a giant Jenner at heart.

But I can also testify as to the stupidity of some people, I love getting up behind teams and dropping off everyone's back armour, maybe killing a few people who simple refuse to investigate the damage, and finally making my exit while the team is rolled over.

Even in supposedly high (meta) elo matches, it happens way too much.

There is absolutely NOTHING to see in your rear arc! Rumors of jenners, embers, and other mechs chopping at your legs and back armor are simply lies perpetuated by weapon manufacturers making rear-mounted weapons. EVERYTHING IS JUST PEACHY BACK THERE!

Now this is literally butt hurt.

Hard part in most games for big mechs is usually getting round to the rear without getting spotted or letting your team get overrun, though.

On your 6 is where the Ember thrives, your rear armour is manna from heaven.....

When I get behind the whole line I tend to use only my large energy weapons and try to time the hits with my teams hits from the front. The best is lrms, when they are getting nailed by them most have no idea you are pumping damage into their backs. Some people notice but, you'd be surprised how many are to focused on what is in front of them. Ballistics are harder for this because it's very apparent where it is coming from.

They best though is legging as many people as you can before they notice and then running away.

Ahhhh I see you were playing on HPG Manifold map... which hinders people's SOUNDS of Lasers hitting them in the back...

This is the best map in the game to do this... because the Sounds are different and muffled.... plus you can coordinate with Teammates to attack Same target at the same time to cause even more confusion,ect..

Jesters are trouble agreed, but I think Dual AC 20 coming up from behind is a Hell of a lot worse. I watched a good pilot roll up a flank and five Mechs with it in nothing flat. :)
