Hello, can someone who owns a 5M please verify that Smurfys is correct about the missile tube count for the Left Torso. Smurfys shows (6x2) or two sets of six tubes, so you can fire say 2 LRM 5's from the torso and all 10 shoot off at the same time.
My worry I that it is a NARC tube or some sort of "Dynamic" tube that will mess with the number of missiles it can actually launch.
Maybe some one can put 2 LRM 5's in that location and chain fire them to make sure 5 fly off at a time?
Thank you : )

I place this quote from konovig's post:
"The 5M has the 5th missile launcher. The 5th launcher no longer has single-tube-syndrome. However, except in mixing SRM 4/6 with 2's or 2 high LRMs with several LRM-5s, or carrying 5 SRM-2s or 5 Streaks, don't expect a whole lot of use."
Hope it helps.

The layout is as follows: 2x10 tubes in the arms, 3x6 tubes in torso.
Enjoying my LRM45 (2x15+3x5) STK-5M since autumn.

If you don't mind me piggybacking on this topic, I got a misery two days ago and it's awesome! Next, I'll be looking to master it, which means more stalkers. I was thinking about this build: http://mwo.smurfy-ne...9cbea4f445640b4
Does that look decent? The goal would be to use LRMs the way a CAT-A1 would, with the bonus of that right torso being a shield if needed. I might move two more tons of LRM ammo to the right leg, but as it stands if my right torso gets blown out, there's still 360 shots = 24 salvos which is likely gonna last me till the stalker goes down.
Additional bonuses to this build include: ability to zombie with that ERLL in the CT, high mounted TAG, absurd amount of ammo, and striking good looks.

Well I bought the 5M and did some testing and yes they are indeed not "Dynamic" or "narc" only tubes. They are true 6 tube missile hard points so you can chain or alpha LRM5's in the torso without any delay issues.
Solar, that build looks like a survivor build, may be fun. I don't know if CASE is needed since I have never had issues with storing ammo in my legs with 70ish armor to protect the ammo. Although I don't know if CASE with ammo in it counts as "Crit padding" but it may?
I did some missile boat DPS testing today and I will post in in another thread for those that are interested.

The CASE is to protect my CT when my right torso ammo gets hit. Thanks for testing the tube count

Odd. You can place a CASE in the CT? From what I recall, only Clan Tech CASE can be placed anywhere. IS CASE had to be in the RT/LT. Do correct me if I'm wrong.
None-the-less. Thanks for this thread. I'm forwarding this to our Lance's Stalker pilot.

Solar I am by no means a expert at this game but what bout something like this,STK-5M?
No AMS but you "Crit pad" the side torso's with heat sinks rather that with ammo and run cooler so you can alpha more. You move all you ERLL's to your arms for better range of movement/targeting. I always go with 2 TAG's in the arms since I always seem to loose a arm and thus have a back up for the rest of the 4 LRM's that use it.
I think the Stalker is a slow twister so twisting to distribute damage is not something I rely on plus you will loose your missile lock if you twist to far. Remember it can take up to 10 seconds to hit your target so you will have to hold rather still for a lock, TAG or line of sight for along time.
But try it out and see if it works for you.
Rolly you can only place CASE in the Side torso's.
What he means is without CASE the ammo in his side torso can explode doing damage to his "CT" or center torso and thus protecting his "CT".

LulnRei, I may do some testing with the two LRM10's in the arms but what I am interested in is the timing.
If I remember right in chain fire the game will launch the tosro's tubes first, so 3 x LRM5's with no door delay. Then the arms 2 x LRM10's with a door delay. So with he .50 second longer delay from the LRM's plus the initial door delay what would the salvo pattern be like? I may be wrong on the order though so I will check into it.
I know a mixed salvo is good for AMS and Ghost heat if you fire a big Salvo first (for AMS) followed by a stream of 5's (for CT hits/shake). What I do in my Stalker 5M is have the 3 LRM5's in the center torso set as a alpha in one weapon group for (AMS) then I have the other firing group set for all 5 LRM5's to chain fire.
So for AMS mechs or pot shots/cover I toss a salvo of 15 followed by two 5's on its tail. For out in the open or running smaller mechs I just chain fire all of them. Of curse I toggle off chain fire for big mechs out in the open with line of sight and TAG for a 25 count Salvo.
