25% Target info acquisition maybe? I love the combo of BAP and Target Info Gathering module. The information is given very fast and it allows to focus on most damaged mechs in the fight. Is it useful for Awesome? I think so. Each enemy mech down means less shots in barn-wide torso of Awesome.

As been said, ECM cancellation and faster target info. The mistake i was referring to was buying an Awesome. Then buying the stupid expensive XL. Then using pulse lasers. And adding in the LpL range extending module.

Love it!
Try with a TAG in the head instead of the MPL. Extra ton for Ammo or heatsink or whatever.
Cheers!

It's sad that it's such a crap mech in MWO.

Also, like I said first, I fudged the locations of some of the less critical internals and the armour values.
Remember, the Awesome is a big, slow scout and not made for brawling. If you use my build, be sure to find a meatshield Fatlas, Battlemaster, or similar brawler and stick with it.
I was feeling nostalgic for my AWS last night and dust off my 8Q for fun.
Then I remember this thread and decide to stick a spare BAP into the CT.
I have to admit it did wonders last night.
Paired up with an Atlas, Jag or Cat and we just stroll around burning things down.
AWS-8Q
2x PPC
5x ML
STD 300
21 DHS
BAP
Signature PPCs for ranged attack to soften up target, and the 5 MLs in 2+3 setup to keep up a near constant burn on weaken component.
The 21 DHS keeps everything cool as long as I don't alpha.

3 PPC's 3 med lasers 375xl, 20 HS. Sensor Range, Target Info Gathering, and Hill Climb module.
Did less damage then I like to see but was very effective at killing. Especially in the middle game. As posted above I locked onto a couple of heavies and we focused down everything we could see.
I was pulling 200-350 damage (less then I like to see) and slaying 2 or 3 (precisely what I like to see!)! On the hottest boards I chained the PPC's on all others I had the pair in the chest linked and the right arm on trigger two. Trigger three for the med lasers.
This 9M is fast, hits accurately and is very nimble. Especially with the hill climb module.

1) Is the mech a light or medium?
if you answered yes to this question, then proceed to shoot the leg of the mech.
if you answered no to this question, then proceed to the next question.
2) did the mech shoot anything that has ammo?
if you answered yes to this question, then proceed to shoot the leg of the mech.
if you answered no to this question, then proceed to the next question.
3) is the mech your targeting have highly damaged leg armor?
if you answered yes to this question, then proceed to shoot the leg of the mech.
anyway, I dont recommend you skimp on leg armor, because I tend to leg mechs more often the going for their core, because people love to "skimp" on their legs, or put ammo in their legs. Also, I recommend people try shooting legs of their enemies, and see where that gets them. Ever since I started trying this, my kills per game have sky rocketed from rarelly getting a kill a game, into 2-4 per game.
