Mech Credit Sales?

Relatively new here (about 45 days), and have already dumped $65 into the game. Blown through the mech credits pretty randomly since I didn't really know what I was doing but it was fun.

Now that I got a handle on things, I'm thinking of investing a serious chunk of change into purchasing MCs. So... two questions for whomever;
  • Do Mech Credits ever go on sale (ie: buy now and get 10% more!)? Or are the sales always of the variety of "these 4 mechs are now on sale, so go ahead and buy them"?
  • Should I wait until the Clan Mechs come out? For $30, from what I understand, you get essentially 3 mechs (and you can go up by $30 for more) plus premium time. Sounds like a potentially interesting deal; though one would have to wait until June.
I'd prefer to have a good bonus-sale on MCs directly, but if that's not going to happen then I may end up waiting.

There was a 20% off MC sale near Black Friday in 2012 and 2013. If there is another, I would expect that time again. If you want to buy something now, you need to get MC at the normal rate and possibly wait for a 30% off sale on your wanted items.

The Clan packages do not include MC for other purchases. The larger ones do include lots of premium time, which means a Cbill/XP boost. Remember that the mechs will become available for Cbills, so you are essentially paying for the specials (e.g. special variants or modules) and early access.

MC sales are rare, until now we had an handful of those, two times during the Black Friday, back in 2012 the black friday sale was repeated twice because due to a lot of requests of people that missed it.

In few words, there's a single MC sale once in a year, they usually bump the number of MCs (20% if i remember correctly) so the 12.000 MC pack is still priced @ 50$ but you get 14.400 MCs instead of 12k.

Clan packages can be a deal. You get an hero mech and two variants to level the hero @ master level. If you wait until the release, you will miss the hero version and you'll have to burn cbills on the three variants (once they come out, that can be 1 chassis @ month while those who bought the packages get them at clan packs release day) and buy 3 mechbays.

Remember that for 30$ you only get a light and no PT. PT starts from the 90$ pack of the Summoner. There are no MCs comprehended in any of these packages, you can however save up a lot of MCs or time because the number of hero mechs and mechbays included.

I'd suggest to wait until we know better about clan tech in detail, hardpoint info like number and disposition and place the order when they'll announce that those pack are going to made unavailable, so you can pick what's best for you.

You can essentially get a pretty good deal if you have loads of patience. Some game cash cards (such as ultimate pay or similar) have sales where you get more game internet money than you spend (one of them had a sale a while ago... in the US only :lol: where you got 25% more than you spent). Combine that with the black Friday MC sale which gives you 20-25% more MC per package and then finally with the mechs you want when they come on sale for 30-40% off of their MC price and you can save loads.

But the problem is the first 2 steps are either very random when and were the cards go on sale and the black Friday MC sales is only a few days per year.

I'd also like to point out that there are weekly sales on Fridays. These often include a selection of hero mechs, trial mechs, or other mechs, camo patterns and/or colors, and sometimes premium time.

That is a relatively different attitude compared to what we usually get....

In two years... there's been exactly 2 MC sales.

Both took place on the same weekend. Black Friday.

'Nuff said then. I guess I'll go ahead and plunk down some cash for now (and call it "buying UI2.0) and then when the clan mechs come out decide if i want to add to their net income.

Of course, any money I spend gets subtracted from my wifes shoe's budget; so for me -- win win.

It is recommended that you use MC for:
1. Mech bays
2. Hero mechs
3. Premium time
4. Mech XP-> GXP conversions
5. Camos and colors
6. Cockpit items
Generally in that order of importance.
And it is recommended that you don't spend your MC on standard mechs which you should get by grinding Cbills instead. Unless of course, you have plenty of disposable income and you really want to purchase it.
