LOL ><!

Some people will complain about ANYTHING.

PGI. It's fine. Leave it like it is. In two weeks they will have something new to complain about. (ui twopointohhhhhh)

Has anyone tried turning the graphics fidelity down and seeing whether the effect is still applied?

It would be unfortunate if this creates another opportunity for gamma-warriors to gain an unfair advantage.

And then we have the 2 year anniversary of the first non-delivery of CW to look forward to .

Ah, the memories...! How optimistic good-natured and forgiving we all were back then, before 8,000 back to back ten-minute deathmatches sucked out all our faith and confidence, leaving us like wrinkled prunes discarded across the cusp of the periphery.

But let's not get melancholy. Now we have Cockpit Glass!

CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES - COME ON!

Ok, fine, you have cockpit glass now, for whatever the F it's worth... Can we PLEASE get rid of the f'ing FILM GRAIN and cut down the smog by about 80%?!?!

It seems your art director wants to do nothing but OBSCURE everything with smudgey BS.

Cut it the F out already!

I have done a half-dozen matches with the new cockpit glass. Is it wierd that I don't even notice it? I honestly have no idea what so many people are complaining about.

exactly. My friend in our ts channel did not noticed it too.
And i like the new effect. It is not to much and i have no problem to aim or hit anything.

Not really, from an immersion standpoint it makes no sense to have as much dust on my mechs windshield in one minute as I would have on a trucks windshield after two days in a dirt lot in the desert.

It is overkill, breaks immersion and limits gameplay, and is not that logical. Unlees next weeks patch brings a windshield wiper module for $50.00 cash of course...

I dislike it only because I find that it really does strain my eyes a lot (maybe that's just me) I don't wear glasses or contacts but found y self rubbing my eyes after just 4 matches de to the strain. I always brawl and use only 3 Atlai , so I'm not approaching this from the sniping perspective.

As mentioned earlier if we can have it toned down that would be great cause as it stands right now it's excessive.

I don't get the "immersion" thing. Like somebody forgot the technologies back from the good old times, where de-glaring coatings on glass and vibration anti-dusting systems were actively in use. When was that... let me think... 2010... now it's 3050... Hm...

Maybe we'll get at least frikkin' mechanical windshield wipers from the 1920s? Probably as a to-buy-with-mc-only cockpit item and a new "weapon group" for it.

I used to get bloody good frame rates when I last played (Last feb) come back to this pos with fps in the 30's despite having a better system now. Not sure if it is due to glass, but wouldnt be surprised as other cry engine games run fine.

After seeing this will probably be another year before I look in on MWO again and War thunder get's another £400-500 revenue that you missed out on last year.

It's simple, some people will not notice it because it will not affect there game play. Missile boat will still see red and lock. Brawlers will be close and not see a big difrence in game play. Snipers, like myself, will see a HUGE reduction in gameplay. We are always looking at the max range, and any vision impediment is a huge loss for us. Stacking a penalty on some of us while leaving others unimpeded is a bad game effect to add. The game is filled with AC40 jagers and missile boats already. That's because they work well. People like myself are already at the bottom end, why give us a "flavor" that only hurts my enjoyment and reduces my effectiveness in gameplay ? For that matter, when will you give us the choice of picking the MAP ? Some will still enjoy "Night" or "Snow" but many of those guys are running mods to remove the very effects I have to deal with because I don't cheat. Please just remove or add the option to remove this pointless layer of fog.

the problem with canopy glass is that the map global lighting projects on it because the mech cockpits are not solid/sealed (you can see this by increasing FOV and then free-looking to the rear. there is no back to the models). this is why the amount of light in the cockpit changes so oddly when moving around, and now that there is glass, it reflects the light when it shouldn't. the in cockpit lighting has always been a little problem i have had with the game. the cockpit should be DARKER when my back its towards the source of light, not brighter!

the only lighting that should be in the cockpit is light from the internal lights and light that comes in though the canopy (NOT through the non-esixtance sun roof/back). once these global lights are no longer projecting on the inside of the glass the unrealistic glare issue goes away. plus it would also be a huge immersion factor if there were dynamic shadows on the cockpit model. there are godrays and dynamic shadows everywhere else in game, why not the first person view? it would be very cool

but really most of you in this thread:

get over it.

I am runnig a griffon and in tourmaline the layer of dirt in the cockpit glass becomes enough to significantly obscure vision. Especially compared to others I looked though there. This needs another pass. It is nice in thought, implementation has proven to be overkill. When i cannot see enough to fight, there is a problem there...

Makes it more realistic, use your HUD.

Wow, PGI just keeps providing us with things to get upset about. Wouldn't it be great if they'd give us something to really rejoice about? Any suggestions as to what they could give us that would make everyone scream out with joy?

Cockpit glass made me post so yes, I AM annoyed.

Please remove it or make it optional.
It gets in a way, is dirty, removes immersion and I just don't like it. I think it will make me play less.

Wait, this might be a good thing. Not for PGI, but for me, not wasting hours and $ here...

Cool. Where's the film grain toggle we were promised over a year ago?

I must say, I like the idea... but it's a bit too strong.

I barely noticed it on RCNight, it was worst on HPG (especially when the sun glares off it; couldn't see at all then), but on Forest Colony I noticed that it appears worse when in the tunnel than when in full-on light...

As others have mentioned, some dirt on some maps makes sense, but no-one would go out with their windows in that state. Can we have it toned down a bit please?

Don't even think about adding a toggle for everyone. It's ok for private matches for movie reasons but not for public games.

It's hardly noticeable on most maps, so where is the problem? Having trouble aiming at targets in 1km+ range? Deal with it!

We have the annoying film grain for too long now and you add another layer of fog to it? Sad.
Please give us the option to disable it.

I don't think it should be an option. The whole point is for immersion. They should either have it or not. Not one or the other as it would change game dynamics.

Also if I am correct, the functionality of it will change over time after this initial implementation. Listening to the NGNG podcast I believe there was discussion with one of the Devs that the glass can actually get cracked and etc during the course of the game.

But back to your point, we should either have or not have it, not a choice.

I for one like the effect after getting used to it after 20 or so games.
