The HPG map is the ONLY one I've seen it that badly though. All of the other maps aren't like this

Eh, Tourmaline (oddly enough) can be pretty bad too.

I haven't seen all of the maps yet, though. I'm interested to see what it's like on Alpine, for example. Frozen City seems fine, though, so it doesn't appear to be temperature related at all. Which is odd.

Where I seem to notice it more is in dark areas. That pic for HPG was underneath in the theta area. Outside it's not nearly that bad. It's slightly more noticeable than other maps. That's why I think the screenies are a little out of context so to speak. But it definitely needs adjusting in certain situations

Use your EYES and say that's not terrible.

Not your crazy eyes, but your actual real eyes. Look at the picture. It's terrible.

It is quite pronounced, you're right, though it won't bother me too much so long as I can see enough to shoot back :) I'll find out for certain eventually, once the matchmaker stops dropping me into Crimson Strait and Terra Therma.

Also, with the eerie green glow effect, I cannot stop seeing that Atlas cockpit window as an emerald in that picture o_o So pretty...

Im using my eyes and telling you its not that bad. IF it stayed like that, it'd be an issue, but it doesnt. It only does that at a very specific angle in relation to the light source (cryengine has a "sun" on every map).

I think the cockpit glass like that was to **** people going down into the HPG and brawling, though I checked myself and it's probably the one thing I could really complain about cockpit glass.

And only happens in very specific areas on a map or two. Which they've also said it definitely needs to adjusted

So if I am understanding your ******** correctly, you are mad because the battletech action simulator is now more closely replicating battletech?

Shut. Up.

Representing Battletech - oh puhlease.

The Glass sux - my personal opinion. Happy to have it for anyone that wants it, just please make the damn thing optional. I like to see mechs and terrain clearly. We don't have a suite full of damn Battlemech sensors to switch to, so visuals are all we've got. I'd like mine to be clear. At best, where's my damn windscreen wiper mod? ;)

Speak for yourself dude... This game isn't made for MLG it's made for mech heads looking for a decent sim. This is one of the best updates they have had I'm a long time and I love it. You don't play this game competitively, at least not till private matches are added.

I love cockpit glass. It should not be something to toggle on or off. It is rather sad the competitive scene dumbs the game down but it has always been that way. I hope in this instance it isn't allowed.

Cockpit Glass just allows those with high level visual awareness and acuity an advantage and rightly so. Just as utilizing the info your HUD displays to your advantage is a skill so are your eyes.

Only the COD kids cry about cockpit glass! I agree it shouldn't be able to be turned off or down. It needs to be a set value by the devs. Sure it needs to be normalized "sorta", but I expect weather effects added in the future, damage, etc.

S'got nothing to do with visual awareness or eyesight. It is like having really great graphics then deliberately obscuring them. Why even bother with terrain and mech details if you're just going to fog them. May as well save on programming and put blocky minecraft graphics in and call it 'glassed'.

Feel free to spout superiority in being a top 'glass' warrior, but don't make the mistake of thinking everyone wants to suffer sub-optimum viewing.

Oh BTW - never played COD, but have played all the PC Mech Warrior games from the 90's till now and as a diehard mech fan, I can tell you it should at least be optional so you can have your glass and I can have my graphics.

They simply need to limit the maximum values that the effect applies. It is too much. If they dropped it by 50%, we would always have glass that was often visible but never so obtrusive as to give people an excuse to grief.

If they make it a toggle, I along with everyone else will turn it off and they might as well not have implemented it. The only people with it on will be nubs and scrubs and it will make the game harder still for them. We want a more even playing field, not less.

You are really exaggerating. Anyone with eyes can see it isn't that bad. Now the film grain you have a case against but a tint and some texture you do not.

It's the scratches and slightly fogged effect I don't appreciate. Yes I can play the game just as well with glass as without - and for those instances where reflection of light plays on the viewport - fine - it does add a nice level of realism or perhaps immersion is more appropriate. But I don't want scratches and fogging blocking my view - I have the graphics settinsg as high as they can go because I love the details. This just obscures them. Bottom line - personally I don't like it and that's about all I can say - I am not a fan and if I had the option I would toast it.

I can appreciate you like it and don't want to see features removed that you and other people like, but couldn't I at least also have the game visually presented as I like too? Really what's the harm in an option?

On HPG (you can test the look on testing grounds) it seems a little....backwards I guess on the osculation of the glass. As in, its noticeable when the "sun" is behind you, instead of in front of you. One would think your own mech would be making a shadow when the sun is to your back. Just seems like some tweaking is needed to be done to the Shaders so it doesn't mess up like that.
