I doubt we lose any more people to cockpit glass than we did to jump jet shake. All the complainers are bound to appear on the forums in much greater proportion than those who aren't bothered.

It does disturb, however, that PGI did not have the foresight to imagine that people would want a toggle.

Shuting off Cockpit Glass AND Film grian would be godly.

How does this have anything to do with upcoming features? It would be nice if the mods could keep threads in the right subforum.

The mechs aren't even supposed to have actual glass cockpits, and I am not a huge cannon nerd for BattleTech or anything, it just doesn't ******* make any ******* sense at all, it looks stupid, and it should be optional. It breaks my immersion in the game.

Definitely not spending any more money on cosmetic stuff in a game where the devs are going to repeatedly **** with the cosmetic style of it. See: Catapult changes.

I always pictured them as armored pods with cameras on the outside projecting directly into the crazy mech-suit-dude's head and I really don't give a **** in the world if you agree or disagree, these kinds of changes should be ****** optional.
Windex, 50 MC.

you guys realise film grain and glass have nothing to do with immersion but only to lower the visual range so you can keep small map with harder sniping and long range shooting... It's a crutch for pgi.

On topic, either remove film grain or remove glass. I chose remove film grain because it makes no sense and degrade vision the most.

pretty sure they intend to display the vision modes (heat, magscan, NV) ON the cockpit glass so removing it might be out of the question if it is directly tied to that development.

Why are you people always complaining? If the glass is bad or good then it is bad or good for EVERYONE. Nobody has an advantage, and if you don't like it, then go and play some other game. If you put a toggle then some will have an advantage and some not. It would be something like playing a flight sim where one player is on 'simple settings' and another on 'realistic settings'... What fun would that be?

I am not saying that cockpit glass is 'realistic' or 'better' but this is a feature of people who are designing this game, and if they think it should be there then it should. If you don't like it, you can always start up your own company and make a 'perfect' game to show everyone how it's done!

Seriously, the amount of time some people are spending bitching on forums about all kinds of trivial stuff could be much better used if they were not lazy and actually took time to do something other then spilling their opinions online!

P.S. Back in the day you didn't have ANY influence of how a game is designed, and yet everyone was much happier playing those games. What are we doing wrong now?

Not everyone likes it. Plus it looks obtrusive if youre trying to record the game. You should be able to toggle it on/off.

I think all they really need to do is tone some of the effect down a bit. Make it so you can notice the glass there in certain situations (reflections, sunlight, etc), but not to the point of it being obtrusive. At least not at the start of a round. As the game progresses, make the glass more obtrusive. Kind of like a handicap for getting shot in the face too many times. Right now it kind of looks like someone took a shit on my cockpit and tried to mop up with sandpaper.

I don't really see a problem with it, I like how it adds to the flavour, but that's just my opinion. Kind of how I'd also like to see the return of rearm, repair and knock downs.

Yes, make the cockpit glass optional. Make it that if we put 0/18 armor on the cockpit the glass wont be there anymore.

Unfortunately, even with all the amazing technology available in 3050, they haven't quite figured out how to remove dirt from a windscreen. Either that or you were travelling in the dropship for about a century before arriving to fight.

I know someone at PGI had this "amazing" idea thats his and no ones gonna tell him it was wrong but the option to remove glass effect is really the only way to go. Adding it reduced the graphics of the game down to a late 90's design visual (graphically MWO really stood out). I personally cant stand it and destroys the feel of the game. Others may love it and can keep it.

Bottom line:
Stop forcing your vision of the perfect game down our throats.
You let us choose and you guys NEVER get it wrong. Add a removal option.

Wow. WTF is wrong with so many of you players. Glass = immersion. It should have been there from the start. I've missed it from MW3. Frankly, if you think that TINY LITTLE BIT of dirt that shows up on the sides of the glass panels on only VERY SPECIFIC angles is going to effect your 'sniping', then... wow... words fail me.

I mean, I guess an option to 'switch it off' wouldn't be entirely unreasonable. But then again, I'm guessing it's a part of the cockpit texture and not separate. So work to add in a removal option might be harder than you lot think.
