As with every patch day, I immediately hop onto mwomercs to check patch notes with an almost childish glimmer of hope that stompy-robots-online will get some sort of medication for what's ailing her.

As with every patch day (with a few exceptions), I was once again sorely disappointed. So I just want to put this out there in the hopes that some devs will take a look and maybe we can get some effective patching done the next time patch day rolls around.

Hit box improvements, battlemasters opening up to cbill purchase, and my personal favorite: Cockpit Glass. It's nice, I like it. It's another level of immersion that makes me feel like I'm actually in the cockpit of a 70t battlemech. That said, why? Why add this feature that is reportedly giving people headaches, eye strain, motion sickness, etc. When there's so many other things that could be done? I've seen some really great, gameplay fixing (and breaking) patches in the past, so where did the meat of these patches go?

Missile hit detection is still horrible, and as much as I absolutely love brawling, I'm forced to either play energy weapons or autocannons instead of loading up with a few med lasers and srm racks because 3/4 of them never register any kind of damage. After playing 10+ games today, I finally just shoved my chair away from my desk and had to go have a cigarette because of the hit detection in general. (specifically a Catapult eating 50 points of damage to a bright, cherry red internal CT).

Which brings me to the other point, hit detection of all weapons. It used to be far worse, I know, but it was predictable! If a mech wasn't taking damage when hit, i could adjust my aim to slightly in front of them and score hits where the mech's hitbox was at. Lag was a manageable part of gameplay (and I know that some players needed HSR badly, due to high ping making the game unplayable) but once you figured out that the jenner was 10m in front of where you were seeing it, it was as good as dead.

I'm sorry to say it, because I've always been a believer of keeping my mouth shut for something I don't have to pay money for, but after buying hundreds of dollars worth of content and investing hundreds of hours into the game, it just feels like PGI quit giving a damn about fixing the game, and is just adding a new layer of paint to rusted metal and calling it new.

Please: PGI. I promise that if you put off UI 2.0 or the Clan Mechs for just a couple of weeks, and focused on the actual gameplay: hit detection, weapons balance, etc. that has been plaguing the game for months now, you'd see a happier player base.

I know the devs work hard on the patches that are released, it just seems that they're working on the half of the game that's already good (in my opinion): the visuals. I, personally, find the game beautiful. I'd just like for the nice end of the rope to quit being extended, and the frayed end to get fixed before the silk ribbons start being tied on.

Respectfully,
Faktopus

MWO has may faults, but biggest by far was not allowing selected teams to drop on same map.
While PGI/DEVs continue to muck about with game and we continue to wait on CW, they could have enjoyed fan support with organised leagues/matches.

These ongoing bugs have been bothering me for a while, and it's not like they're not known about.

1. SRM hit detection
2. Texture issues on Frozen City.

Also there's some really balancing that could be done for pulse weapons that would be real easy to test. Drop the heat on MPL and LPL down to the same as there longer range counter parts are very close to. They weight more and thus less heats can be taken. If they turn out to be OP, great! Turn them back a notch. Large Lasers barely get used these days anyway so I doubt LPLs would be OP with the same heat.

agree. ive given up on tonight and the game for a while, fed up.

spiders are impossible for me to kill let alone do more than tickle 'em, EVEN if they stand there right in front of me. the hit reg has suffered dramaticly on this patch.

srms are a 50/50 hit/hit no damage/nothing at all, ac 20 occasionaly mis-represents and the ppc's on my catapult (aside from looking silly small) arent much better.

but the good news, ppc/ac victor/highlander meta seems to be killing all to easy. Mechs- now with grainy glass to peer though upon a grainy world. do we get a complementry sick bag???

Im from Aus Melb, ping round the 260-280 (1500 kbp/s adsl) ,fps 35+ average, etc etc.

Thanks for your time, see you all in a bit.
