Ha thanks...

Anyone else would love to see cracked glass spots here and there when taking damage to the head and head only?

Good lord, no. I've had games do that to me in the past. I don't play those games anymore.

The glass effect alone is annoying enough as it is.

To hell with immersion if it gets in the way of actually playing the game.

I would love to see cracking glass when you take head damage, anything to make me feel like I'm driving a giant robot (instead of being one).

Personally love then new glass effect, though if the clean-up crew were my employees they would have been fired years ago.

Ready to ask for a refund on the MC I've bought and drop the game like a bad habit, anyway.

Actually, I don't care a bit about all of that, or even about the glass, really, so long as we get an option to turn all of them off.

Lol, nice cracks, seems like they will be implemented, but it is up to the community to post up some ideas and polls, PGI is even thinking about steam/smoke inside cockpit when you are running very hot over time to obscure vision. Check out NGNG podcast #100 with Russ Bullock.

I also like and but like I wrote in another thread, I think it's a bit too much greenish and would prefer a more grayish tint.

Hmm, I forgot they added this when I played last night, didnt even notice it.
But since cockpits have glass, why hasnt someone in the 31st century invented artillery paint bombs? Disable an entire team in one shot. And the high-tech paint bomb counter - windshield wipers. And windshield fluid modules.... and... ok Ill shut up.

Cockpit glass... meh.

Russ and Bryan likes the idea, and cracks and more cockpit effects will probably come in the future, but not very soon

Nevertheless I like the cockpit glass, I like the immersion, now you have the feeling that you are piloting the mech instead of "being" the mech.
Of course tweaking needs to be done, but this first version is pretty nice.

Wow...you get this game to be immersed in a Mech sim and all i see is beyatchin about the immersion. Here is a fix for all those fair-weather pilots. Either run third person view or don't play. I want this game to be as realistic as possible, and I am sorry if you take an AC20 to the dome chances are the glass will start to crack. How is that not realistic?!?

Hell, the first game i played (granted I did not read the patch notes first) i was wondering what the hell the sheen i kept seeing was, in fact i got all blowed up while staring at it like a complete noob...but guess what, ya didn't catch me going off to the forums to blow up the devs about wanting an on off switch. Adapt and conquer, not beyatch and pitch a fit like some 5 year old!!

I would freaking love that. You see all of these shows with mechs .etc. in them with the cockpit sparking out and smoking when it's critical, I would love to see that in this, although obscuring vision too much WILL get annoying. Enough extra effects to make it feel like you are on your last legs rather than having just a flashing light.

So you agree that the above screenshot is not too much to be annoying and perfectly shows that the cockpit have been damaged. I'm not sure about smoke, it's pretty complex to reproduce something credible.

Yeah I do. I actually really like that. I'd like it if it was a bit more like actual impact cracks, the small photoshopped ones look more like spider webs ;P

I am a little bit disapointed about the patch. In my opinion cracks, sparks, etc. in the cockpit would make the game much more atmospherical, if you get a big hit.
Hey it's a fighting game with big giant mechs, which pilots try to kill each other.
Does anybody remember the pictures he imagined as he read the first story about mechs, which fight against each other in a city? Screaming people, crushing buildings and big wreckage pieces, which fly through the air. Smoke and debris everywhere. Thats what I want! You can't even destroy the buildings at the moment. In my opinion, cracks and sparks would be a step in the right direction.

TBH I have many issues with the cockpit glass. According to lore pilots wore a neuro helmet which feeds info directly to the brain from sensors in the mech.
So were now throwing that piece of lore out the window and taking a step back to 20th century tech?

EVER HEAR OF WINDSHIELD WIPERS?

If the glass in my car were that pitted i'd have it replaced. Cracks and holes after damage I could deal with but the constant haze from the old pitted glass effect is just wrong. Want to charge me 30 cbills per drop to replace the stupid piece of glass fine but don't make me suffer with this garbage glass from a 1940's car with decades of wear. Seriously were talking 3050 here not 1950.

I won't mention the physical problems people are having but if you really want you can add that to the list too.
