Razer Nostromo Issues

Wanted to check in and see if anyone else has experienced issues with a Razer Nostromo (note, this model is different than the N52TE, which my wife has).

MWO will not launch once you click 'play', just get a window w/ a black screen, but it never loads to the login screen. If I unplug the Nostromo, log into the mechlab, and plug it back in, it freezes. Same thing happens if I drop & wait until the game loads, it locks up entirely.

Note, I'm using Razer Synapse (I have a Deathstalker Ultimate) for the drivers normally - I've tried uninstalling all of the drivers for the Nostromo manually, this does allow the game to launch, but the keypad doesn't work of course.

This only began back in October, before that I've used the Nostromo for over a year in MWO without an issue. Trying to nail down if it's the drivers causing the problem, or the game. I can play other games without a problem (BF4, GW2, etc).

Anyone else have this model and experienced this issue?

Run a test disable UAC.

Control Panel/ User Accts / Change user acct control settings / move bar to the bottom.

Reboot and test MWO now. (afterwards you can duplicate the above and set the settings back to the original setting).

Not very helpfully to you, but I've not had any problems with my Nostromo/Synapse.

Running Nostromo, Lycosa, Deathadder 3.5G so definetly run Synapse. Wasn't there a Synapse update in/around October? Could it be a borked update?

I have a razer orbweaver that exhibited this problem. At the time I had a USB hub that was plugged into my machine that was running several devices. With the hub plugged, even if all devices were plugged into the PC, MwO would freeze at launch until I unplugged it [you could leave MwO stuck at the launch screen, unplug the orbweaver, wait 5-10 seconds, and MwO would start the opening animations]

Removing ALL usb hubs solved this for me. I don't know if it's something with Synapse or a USB driver issue. Worst case scenario, and I know this isn't the answer you're looking for: just leave it unplugged until you're in game.

I always have UAC disabled completely. It's always caused nothing but issues for me, and since I'm careful about what I download & install / run on my PC, I feel I don't have much to worry about that a reformat can't fix.

I think you're more on the right track - it has something to do with when both the Deathstalker Ultimate & the Nostromo are plugged in at the same time. Even though the keyboard does not have a USB hub built into it, there's a driver that loads with it that looks like a hub in Windows (probably something to do with the touchscreen on the keyboard, and it has two USB plugs that it uses, one for power, one for data / touchscreen). For now I just swapped the Nostromo to my wife's PC & am using an older N52TE, which doesn't have a problem.

It wouldn't surprise me to find out you're absolutely right. I didn't state this in my post, but I *ALSO* am using a deathstalker ultimate keyboard. I didn't even think to swap it out. I'll have to look at that at some point.
