Abstract: Cockpit glass effect breaks advanced zoom function.

Bug Location: In combat when using a mech equipped with the advanced zoom module.

Reproduction rate: ~80% Severity depends on lighting and level of cockpit glass glare.

Step to reproduce: Activate advanced zoom when there is a moderate amount of glare or noise from the cockpit glass effect. Picture in picture window shows you glare, obscuring distant objects. A few pixels of glare becomes the entire zoom or obscures targets in zoom window.

Impact: Loss of functionality of a module costing several thousand xp and millions of c-bills

Suspected cause: Advanced zoom does not work by changing field of view. Advanced magnifies pixels in the normal 1x zoom's FoV.

Oh why does the Screen shot key save the image without the cockpit details (interior view of chassis, glass, cockpit, cockpit items)?

I do not believe that. I know they have nerfed several builds and weapons intentionally. I believe that was because those builds had become very successful and they wanted to level the playing field. The current meta shows that LRM boats and AC40 builds are among the most successful. A AC5 build or a AC2 build both require you to stand and take the hits. Gauss is already heavily nerfed, and is now an uncommon build. Why would they screw the less popular, less successful builds to bump up the more successful, more popular builds ? No I believe they made this choice because THEY HATE US AND WANT US TO GO PLAY OTHER GAMES !....I'm sorry, I mean because DEVELOPMENT TIME NEEDS TO BE SPENT ON WREAKING WHAT ALREADY WORKED AND NOT DEVELOPING PROMISED CONTENT. I'm sorry again, rants just keep slipping out. I'm sure they care about the feedback. and will probably tone it down. I also feel I have NEVER seen a post requesting anything like this. Claims that it increases immersion are like claims that I need to be stabbed every time my MECH gets shot, you know ..Because it helps make it feel more real. Sadly, if its wreaking your zoom, most people will not care... They no longer have to fear a sniper. The LRM rain will continue, target lock is unaffected, so too is the AC40 brawler. Not sure how this affects the lights... I enjoy them, but currently cant play much due to HAVING PULLED MY EYES OUT IN FRUSTRATION.

Deal with it. It is working as intended.
It's ok when you can't see stuff under certain circumstances!

Do you sue the manufacturer of binoculars when you look into the sun with them, because you hardly can see anything?

Why does everyone say it is working as intended? "to nerf snipers."

Do they have proof or other examples of devs lying?
The patch notes say it is for immersion.

The perception is it differs by mech, map, and graphic settings.
Players seem concerned a toggle would give some one an unfair advantage.
Graphic settings can already do that, should they remove ability to "toggle" those?
Using an ssd rather then hdd lets you move first,
should they add more delay to starting the game to level the playing field?
Maybe they should not sell MC only enhancements or special mechs,
as money gives an unfair advantage! ( actually they shouldn't but that's another tread )
