BattleTech and MechWarrior Novels are rather hard to come by these days. Try looking up on Amazon to see them. The series starts at BattleTech then Mechwarrior then Mechwarrior Dark Age.

Uh ... or you could go here: http://www.sarna.net...ttleTech_novels

for a very complete and useful listing of ALL of the novels...

... and use those ISBN numbers here: http://www.bookfinder.com/

To find the books.

If you've never read any of the BT novels, I (and many others) would reccomend the "warrior trilogy" to get you introduced to the inner sphere; after that, I would reccomend the "blood of kerensky" trilogy to get an idea of where the "clans" stand in the overall scheme. If you stick with it after that, get them all, except "far country" (don't ask. It's HORRIBLE) and any of at least the print-books by illsa j. bick ; she has a habit of writing abject filth. Yes, DO give the MWDA books a chance.

I would suggest looking around the BattleTechWiki at http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Main_Page. That Web Site has a treasure trove of information. It will let you know which Source Book and/or Novel to read to get more information.

Two of IMO the best trilogies are from Michael A. Stackpole. The Warrior Trilogy and Blood of Kerenksy Trilogy.

be warned though that they mary-sue already one dimensional characters to ungodly levels, particularly the blood of kerensky trilogy.

Stackpole is one of the few big-name sci-fi writers that I've always felt captures the feeling of whatever universe he is writing about perfectly.

His writing is a little stilted, as is to be expected from sci-fi writing, but he is a great place to start if you're new to any universe. I've always been a huge fan. His Rogue Squadron series for Star Wars was phenomenal.

or you know, if you swing the way of the ebooks:

[redacted]

I just finished the first three Grey Death Legion books, not the greatest works of literature, but quite fun.

Please note that the Battletech novels and sourcebooks are still under copyright. There is no legal free source for those books.

If you want to support the franchise and the authors, you'll get your ebook copies from bg.battletech.com.

Audible has/had the Blood of Kerensy trilogy, but the B-tech universe is sorely neglected in the ebook/audiobook world....

And theoretically speaking, had I owned any PDFs of these novels, I would also own the hard copy.... ;)

Are there anymore Battletech audiobooks?

I listened to Wolves on the Border, Heir to the Dragon, Lethal Heritage, Blood Legacy, Lost Destiny and Double Blind about a year ago.

I've got to disagree pretty heavily there. Ghost of Winter and Roar of Honor were my starting point into the literature of Battletech (before that I only played the video games) and they were incredibly fun reads. My copy of Roar of Honor specifically has been worn out more than any other book I own. By Blood Betrayed also wasn't too shabby but I never felt compelled to read it again after the first time, but I certainly wouldn't lump it in with Far Country.
