Big bug on the glass.
The back of your mech does not block light hitting the glass... this causes massive specularity on the glass when looking certain directions or when there is a light source behind you.

Has anyone pushed this through support or do they already know?

I guess I'll put in a ticket... This doesn't happen with every mech, so far i've noticed it on the Jagers and Highlanders

Noticed it and posted about it somewhere else as an answer.
But I don't know if this is supposed to be like that or not, since the glass effect is strongest and most visible with the sun behind your 'Mech. So if they removed the way it is now, the glass effect would be much less visible in a general sense...

The game doesn't seem to calculate shadow of any kind. Even going underground does not stop the sun from shining in.

This, to me, is the most annoying part of this glass. For something added purely for immersion, it is very immersion breaking when the 'glare' [or whatever you want to call it] appears exactly the opposite of when it should.

Actually there is no back on your mech lol. If you twist alot you sometimes see that its completely open bind you. Not sure if that really is a part of this problem, but even if its not its something that should be fixed. Maybe by a black wall or something, dosent really matter

Yeah it's because the cockpit doesn't have a back on it. The cockpit model is not on the inside of the mech itself, it's rendered for the player.
But I hear there are issues which PGI is working on right now anyway, this included probably.

I've submitted a support ticket on it, hopefully it gets looked into.

Shadowing the cockpit will stop the funky reflections on the inside, however its currently backwards. I think the light is casting on the INSIDE of the cockpit instead of the OUTSIDE of the glass. I think this is why we're experiencing shine while looking AWAY from light sources..

So as of right now, the cockpit isn't shadowed AND the glass is inside out...

Reported this on UI 2.0 3.5 test. Yes they should know about it though I never got a response.

Isn't there a mech you can mouselook in and find that the pilot doesn't have a head?

I really really don't like what they did with the glass.

The pilot model doesn't have a head at all. You're a floating camera.

Re: OP - I'm pretty sure it's been reported by several other people, too. I was reading some of the QQ threads about cockpit glass for teh lulz the other day and I saw some people had submitted tickets. Tbf, those posts are buried under 'amagad pgi nubz', so...

But yeah, this is still an early iteration, I guess. It should get better down the line :P
