That's a good build. I run a slightly modified version of that -- replace one Medium Laser with an extra Double Heat Sink. The extra heat dissipation allows you to fire more often.

Are two Jump Jets enough or should I shoot for more?

Other options are 6SPL or 5ML as Durant (a better JR7 pilot than me) suggests. I usually run 6ML grouped 2/2/2 and fire four a lot of the time, six when I know I can make it count and afford the heat.

IMO, two are plenty. You'll be able to cross any canyon on Canyon Network with two and get pretty much anywhere useful. And cooling is the bigger issue.
EDIT: scooped!

worse comes to worse i use my third weapon group to chainfire them all (one group for MLs, one group of SPLS). other than that i believe i use the exact same build. 2JJs is more than enough, most of my mechs don't have more than 1.

While SPLs are more heat efficient, I find that the extra range you get with MLs helps to deal damage early on in the game when it's usually a bad idea to rush deep into the enemy deathblob.
I initially gave up on the JR7-F, because the heat management is so brutal, but after toughening up and getting them full elites it's much more tolerable. I only pilot the 6 ML loadout, using 2 weapon groups, 1 for alpha, and 1 for all lasers on chain fire, which I use when the heat is high and click just fast enough to keep the heat a bit over 90% until the encounter is over and I get to cool down. I'm a pretty mediocre pilot, but my stats show that in the 200+ matches I've played with the F, I've scored an average of 1.5 kills per match. That is better than any of my assaults. It's also got the best KDR of any of my mechs.
TLDR; It's good, but you need the full elites = you need to buy 2 other Jenners with it to get those. Before that it can be quite a pain.

I'm a terrible Jenner pilot, I don't have the patience to be a light pilot. Although I do want to try the machinegun spider. But yeah, I sold my F. My KDr in the Jenner was 0.40 lol.(only 15 games before I sold it.)
