Also, do you understand how convergence works? Your weapons will angle in at whatever is directly under the reticule when you fire. However, if due to lag or sketchy timing, whatever was under your crosshairs moves, they'll reconverge instantly on whatever is now in front of your crosshairs.
This sort of effect can make skinny, speeding lights (spider) literally impossible to hit in certain circumstances - when you need to lead them, and they're moving rapidly perpendicular to you. This is because the moment your reticule moves off the target in front of it, your arms reconverge to meet at the terrain (potentially kilometers away) behind the mech. This angles your arms out, essentially having your left arm lead the target more and your right arm lead the target less.
Also, lets say you're aiming at a Jenner's legs. You're tracking a leg, but just as you hit the fire button your reticule strays into the space between it's legs. Instead of angling in to hit a pinpoint spot on the jenner, suddenly your weapons refocus on the terrain 600m past the jenner and fire much wider.
