But we can't figure out how to make scratch resistant glass, something perfected over a thousand years ago.

Behold, this game had cockpit glass effects, so stop bitching.

Ps: it might be hard to see, i couldn't get the quality very high without the files becoming huge, but mechwarrior 3 had glass AND it could be cracked by direct fire.

Yours burn out in your mech? Mine don't. Maybe your fusion reactor engine is putting out too much juice. More complicated than making clear glass you know.

pbiggs, what kind of computer you running MW3 on? I can't get it to run without the game having random slowdowns, and I haven't figured out a way to resolve it.

But a thousand years ago you didn't have psychotic crazies shooting heavy mass high powered ballistics at your windshield.

Windows 7. You need to jump through hoops to get it to work. You need a special DLL file from mw3.org (the name of which escapes me) to get rid of the nasty graphical artifacts, and you need to run it in compatibility mode. It kind of sucks, but this playthrough has been better than any in perhaps the last ten years. I havent had any flying apcs and crash bugs. I dont know why its running so smoothly

pbiggz, any chance you can try to help find that .dll? I haven't been able to find it. I don't have graphical glitches, but I do have issues where the game runs fine, and then suddenly it just starts slowing down and then speeds back up, and it does it consistently.

Well they should reduce the effects in the middle of the windows. I'm for immersion and stuff but this is a little too much. Its not immersive its distrubing from time to time.
