Just as the topic states, just wondering if many of you will be keeping your IS mechs, and switching entirely to clan tech, or will you keep and still pilot them?

I personally plan on keeping my Atlases, Cataphracts, Centurions, and Jenners, but will likely sell everything else.

I expect to hold onto my Jager and Spider, because the current lineup of Clan mechs are not particularly well known for Dakka configurations nor are they offering any good scouting light mech. Of course, if the Arctic Cheetah was released, I would drop the Spider/Jenner/Raven trifecta like a bad date.

I think I'll keep all my IS mechs. When the time comes if I want to switch to Clan Mechs I'll just get some new mech bays and start collecting the clan mechs i want (Uller and Puma for sure)

I will keep a number of my regular chassis and then of course my hero mechs. I am also mostly trying to go for heromechs as the core variant of my main mechs. Though I have a few I will still keep. How often they get dropped in or if they more end up in my personal Brian Cache is another question.

The Clans were known for having and running old Star League mechs so it is not so much a stretch to keeping and using them. So I will be keeping mine (I put too much time, money, and effort into them to throw them away), but they most likely be gathering dust while I focus on my Clan designs. Right now I have 47 mechbays filled with plans to buy several more before the Clans arrive. I am trying to gather the funds together for me to buy the $240 Warhawk package so I will not have to worry much about bays for them. I cannot wait... 4 years that I have waited to pilot theses mechs, 4 very long years..... :P

I'm not selling jack, Jack.

I've put to much blood sweat and tears into these things and plan to run them and everything else into the ground.

You bring a very valid point up here. I may consider grabbing another Jager in the future.

My only concern with the current IS mech line, specifically the medium and heavies, many of them will become null and void once the clan mechs come out. The poor Hunchback for instance is dying a slow death (though it has for some time, but the Shadowhawk put the nail in the coffin).

Not going to sell anything. It takes way too much time for a casual like me to afford new 'mechs. Especially with like 10% sell price. Forget that!

Not selling my mechs, and not buying any Clan mechs. Wanna know why? Because Clan mechs are boring. Their design is uniformly stark and uninspired. They have no soul.

Edit: sorry, forgot where I was posting in. You clans are cool.

The reason Clan mechs have no soul is because the Clans themselves have no soul.

Agreed but there is no way around it. The Law of Natural Selection is in full swing and just like the Hunchback and Thunderbolt are 'bad' mechs, so to will the Clan have bad mechs.

And there will be bad hero mechs as well. Just look at the Golden Boy, it was DOA even before it was released.

At the very least I'll be hanging onto my Cataphracts and Centurions, not only because I enjoy them but because I'd rather not sell off the only two chassis types I've purchased patterns for.
