The part you are missing is the utterly shit posting by the people who are complaining about getting trolled. Don't be a shit poster and you won't get trolled. It's not hard.

It's fascinating that this thread lasted quite a long time in the regular forum, until the shit posters came along.

You say you have introduced people to this game. Did you not drop as a group (premade)? I would never bring a new player into this game without dropping with them.

These are people I know from a local hobby shop. All I told them was that there a new Mechwarrior game and it was an MMO. It was only weeks later that I heard they'd tried it (each of them on their own) so they formed their opinions individually. This is also why I (or any of them) never dropped together. I never even knew they'd tried it until much later.

If there weren't so many shit posters,

I wouldn't have over 5000 posts,

70% of which are making fun of shit posters,

20% strictly OT posting

and about another 10% where I attempt

to contribute something to a thread

before the shit posters come in and

I'm forced to make fun of their shit posting.

make me more of an icon,

because if it wasn't for you,

I would just fade into obscurity

Mud is just a paranoid little ***** with an inferiority complex. I've done my best to just ignore him over the last couple of weeks. He's too busy being a martyr to provide anything useful to the community. Any time you try to reason with him or ask him a question he just disregards it and continues to derail threads with his "I'm a victim of premades. They touched me here, here, and here" rants that most people just dismiss his antics. The only ones who support him are new players who think it's a good bandwagon to jump on (but most of them actually figure him out before long) and the other mouth breathers who seem to think they're the victims of some evil plot to ruin their enjoyment of the game.

It's paranoia, stupidity, stubborn nature, and ignorance all rolled up into one neat little package. He reminds me of Dale from King of the Hill. He does provide me with amusement from time to time though

I think I've got him just about figured out though.

He was picked on a lot as a child, instead of whoever the parental guidance figures were told him to tell instead of busting a bully in the mouth so now he has the nanny/tattle-tale mentality but he's a "grown up" now so he thinks he's "fighting" back against thsoe guys who used to pick on him as a kid.

it's no different than when the same kids grow up to be cops so now they can "get back" at people

I'm sorry, living on the forums posting 50+ bash posts per day doesn't make you guys any better. I mean seriously, I don't think I could do that if I tried. I'm pretty sure this can only be accomplished by basement dwellers with some serious social issues.

You guys feel some kind of empowerment through acceptance because other trolls help you gangbang a few people on the forums. This place is sickening. I can't browse these forums without finding a single post that isn't already reduced to petty neener neeners and taint waggling by the same few people.
