Well, devs, if you are reading this, take note that yesterday I did full salvo of LBX10+2xSRM4 at stuck Spider SDR-5K (it was standing still) from less than 100m and it has registered almost no damage! It was impossible to miss and it wasn't the type of weapon that actually miss on 100m, ergo: fix damned HSR and spider hit boxes!

I am a jenner pilot, and i can't take a duel with a spider, i simply run away, 'cause i will take more damage than him.
On the other hand, i once had a spider, it was broken, i took at least twice the shots than my jenner and my jenner has more armor than the spider, even considering that, the spider had less effective damage taken from the shots than my jenner (really, i ran between full enemy team not yet engaging my team, and did not die (only red armor, i repeat, red armor), i would die instantly with my jenner).
I read a post in which they say lights should not be on skirmish, why? i deal assault like damage with my jenner, do you really think a 150kph 6Mlas doesn't deal a lot of damage, or it can't kill an atlas on its own (not brawl, sneak kill) then sir, you are very wrong.
A standard light pilot should play hit and run tactics, or target lone assaults (which can be outmaneuvered), and that's what most of them play, so, hitting them standing still in front of you, i don't really believe you (you should sneak on them, and most of them have sismic, so if they are standing still, they will spot you, and by the time you get there, they will be long gone), the only way to achieve this, 1) the guy AFKing or left the game, 2) extreme lag so they can't play properly (this gents should not play at all anyway), 3) a really very bad light pilot, so you should have a really low elo...
Anyway, spiders are a little broken... I can hit properly almost everything at 150kph (and them at any speed) except spiders...

I should start recording my spider matches and put your arguments to rest because you will see me running at full speed getting inside convergence range jump jetting and dying a lot.

Please do, sneeking, it'll goo a long way toward proving the point.
You'll have a dozen or more people telling you exactly how much damage was dealt to the Spider (number of LL hits, AC hits and so on) and then you can see how much was actually taken. Take the video in 3PV.

I've shot plenty of stationary or semi-stationary (running directly away in straight line) with ac20's at 100-200m range and seen only a slight change in armor color from yellow to light orange.
The fact it changed color means I hit it, but only did a fraction of the damage. Someone want to explain how that's working as intended?

My ping stays at around 50-60 most games. It is not a ping issue on my end. Mechs standing still also, should not be showing HSR problems anyway. It seems to be a hitbox hole or a weapons registration issue. Its like the damage registration is being multiplied by a percentage on occasion. The torso seems to show the problem worse than the legs. Streaks with BAP help, but still take more than other lights to kill.

My hunch, and that's just what it is, is based on other first person shooters I've played over the years....
Counter-Strike, back in the Beta days before retail release, had some serious hitbox issues that are playing out similar to what we're seeing with the Spider in many ways.
So...here's my hunch: I'm guessing that since the Spider uses such a small model, the hitboxes are even smaller still....in fact, I'm betting the hitboxes are smaller than the actual projectiles (missiles, ACs, PPCs, etc) than are being shot at them. If only 40% of the projectile hits the box, then it will inflict less than 40% damage.
Again, just a hunch.

do ballistics have any splash? that would explain the light damage you sometimes inflict at close range with ac20's. That or its just a paper doll update issue.
My pings 220-270 so HSR comes into play there. It probably happens about 10-20% of time?

Let's see how I died today.... Spider standing still to report enemy location behind a wall. Suddenly a gauss rifle takes my arm off one shot. The shooter was about range 600 on other side of the wall care to explain how he shot through it?
I fight Jenner with Streaks the O version. Hits me does alot damage on the first salvo. I begin evading using buildings as cover to break lock for some reason doesn't work he keep lock even though not airborne. After 3 salvos I am dead turns out his streaks are doing double damage. Amazing part is they are also hitting and shaking my mech like an ac 20...
I seen post on here that streaks don't work. If you have Beagle Active probe they are extremely effective. Problem is they do not break los when the player puts terrain between you and them. Meaning I often stay range 400 or more so they cant fire... GUESS what I still get hit with streaks by a lone pursuer at range 400 sometimes and going how in the hell is he doing that?
Of course who cares that spiders fighting at range 500 have to stay on the move to stay alive.
I have been one those last spiders standing at end of deathmatch ( it isn't skirmish the person came up with skirmish does not know the military meaning of the word) in those match I stay at range, using my ecm like a sub using water for stealth, to look for damaged mechs to kill to even the odds. NO I AM NOT GOING LEAVE COVER AND COME DOWN TO RANGE 400 and DUEL 3 ASSAULTS.
The nerf that needs to happen is putting up European servers and match players ping times. Another nerf should happen your effective range is your max range. NO more of these mega lbx 20's shooting range750 for damage. That is the old SOLARIS Rules not Battle tech. I changed my fighting style with my spider some time ago when they nerfed spiders. NOW I see another push for nerfing. STEALTH ECM SNIPERS should not be allowed it forces many of you shortranged monsters to actually work for your kills....
You say hit boxes are borked but you don't address huge lag players being able to shoot mechs legs off after 3 seconds behind a corner. You don't want mega large mechs with huge pings taking x6 normal damage to kill being nerfed that is ok. Just get rid of the spider so you feel good about your shooting game again. I forget to mention auto aimers that still appear now and then. I see some those taking out mechs on regular basis.
