with the recent changes to weapon geometry, i am wondering if this changed the hitboxes at all.
it would make no sense to mess with the head hitbox at all, but i have been headshot many more times tonight along than the last 2 years combined (in hunchies)

Which Hunchback are you piloting? If I am in any of the ones with the big hunch the hunch takes the hit shielding the cockpit but i can still take hits to the head from my left but only if they are in front of me and not 90 degrees to the left. So I assume that the new models that allow for the missile (4J and 4SP) slots to be removed, make for a more exposed cockpit.

I don't know, I headshoted a hunch a couple days ago. I was just like, oh, alright. It just happens from time to time, could also be that you're just running into hackers tonight. For people in denial, yes, hacking does exist in this game. It's been happening since closed beta.

the hunckback's head is actually more isolated from the body than you'd actually think, it's actually the same relative size as the characters in TF2.

Hunchback heads have always been much easier to hit than most players realize, the same for many of the humanoid mechs. The main reason why you don't see head kills all the time is that they are very much not center of mass, so it's a very big risk to try for the head shot (and hard to train yourself to do). Best practice tends to be to aim for center mass, or for prominant weapon locations like hunches, so you don't often see people try for headshots on mechs with heads that are high or off to one side.
