I've ran into the following situation today:
Posted Image

How is that possible that I'm dead with all the parts of mech still in place? Network sync issue? I'm playing with ping around 150, but no packets lost.
This never happened before. Even if the engine is overheated and blown up, CT will not be drawn.

Another problem I had recently - Jagermech stood still and took 3-4 alphas (Gauss + 2xERLL) in his right hand without even losing it. This totals for 99-132 dmg. Unfortunately, this wasn't recorded, as long as this game has no replay system at all.
I guess I've missed him totally because of another net async, but this is totally frustrating to see that you hit someone but miss him actually.

Occasionally the paperdoll fails to update when you die- this would account for your apparent 'mistake death' in this instance. It doesn't happen as often anymore, but it does still pop up now and then. It's happened to me and others too, and it's not something with predictable regularity.

Anyway, when things happening at client side and things actually happening on the server are different - this is totally frustrating.
I'm not going to buy some custom mech if it's going to be wasted because of these bugs.

I presume you have higher than normal ping/lag. If I have a bad connection I start to run into the same issues; Generally speaking, the damage readout is likely wrong and you likely did suffer the correct amount of damage to destroy your CT.

Lag also accounts for your unfortunate weapon-hit errors.

I wouldnt presume that, I would actually assume the opposite.

I have a low ping ( < 25, I am in Toronto, same city as the servers ), and with recent changes I have seen more and more of what the OP is describing. Much worse in fact, things like ducking behind cover and then 6 or 7 seconds later getting told I had a limb blown off.

Some is borked, clean and simple.

HSR in action. The higher the enemy's ping, the likelier they can hit you even when you think you are out of the firing line.

If you read you will see your LEFT TORSO was destroyed (3rd Line from the bottom in the Damage report) it is just that the rag doll did not update before you saw the report. (XL Engine got you in this one)

Also, and I don't know if MWO reflects this from TT Battletech, it IS possible to get crits without actually destroying all of the armor on the CT. I have, on many occasions, destroyed an enemy mech with a lucky dice roll followed by a lucky crit roll.

I constantly play with ping around 140-150. I can play UT above average with this ping. I even was able to place some headshots. MWO gameplay is much slower, and targets are stationary more often. So generally, ping around 150 should not ruin this game, but it does.

Actually, there are 3 components to destroy:
-Armor. It's shown as a frame around component and it's indeed destroyed on the screenshot.
-Internal structure. This is a skeleton that holds mech together and it has own health. It's shown with a figure itself. When the internal structure of the component is destroyed, the component is destroyed at all, eliminating all of its equipment and, if it was a side torso, eliminating hand as well. Then it disappears on the diagram.
-Engine. It takes critical slots, so can be critted. Engine destruction should actually kill mech (as well as gyro destruction, BTW), but accoording to the wiki (mwo.gamepedia.com) in MWO mechanics engine destruction changes nothing.
Mech is considered dead only if internal structure of CT, head or both legs is destroyed.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

Whoa, XL engine costs more then my mech ;)
I'm not using XL engines at all, although I have plans to grind up 250 XL.
This particular mech uses STD engine.
Anyway, damage report shows that left arm and left torso are destroyed, while diagram shows that they're still alive.
