I think it's important to note that just because it can extend far doesn't mean you're going to reliably match against people with 1000 less Elo than you. Matchmaker is always trying to match you with people at your Elo score, it just gets more flexible rather loose down the road after a few minutes of searching.

Fixed for you, because, I wouldn't call "adding more newbies in trial mechs" more flexible.

I think its super funny too when unmentionables who win in complete stomps tell the defeated team they are "bad" and the winning team is just "epic best."

Yes, epic best... with a random Match Maker.

^ This

That's why I have to chuckle when someone spouts off with something along the lines of "They are trying to attack a specific portion of the population! (usually pugs)" They seem to forget that your opponents are picked at random.

its alright, the brilliant solution was to increase the range of the ELO so you can be matched with even worse players than before so there's a higher chance the enemy team has as many clueless people as yours.

Never mind premades all drop in assaults and your noobs are running SHS mechs.

LOL Someone thinks highly of themselves. I thought it would open up my chances of facing those elite competitive types myself!

They had to throw the "elite" a bone so they can "practice" by stomping people that aren't using the super meta builds and playing whack-a-mole, or something like that. Whatever helps ones ego I suppose.

Anything to give the LRM whiners a quick, painful dose of reality.

so your solution is instead to have some players unable to play the game as a reward for playing well? (winning)

Maybe they just sense your bad attitude and as it permeates through your team they go solo charge suicide the enemy.

On a more serious note, stay positive, you will win more then you would otherwise!

what is unacceptable when my typical night of MWO went like:

login
failed to find match
failed to find match
change weight
failed to find match
failed to find match
change weight
failed to find match
failed to find match
change weight
failed to find match
failed to find match

rinse repeat, 30+ minutes of failed to find match then i logoff without a single match in a night.

you don't count though. If it helps a select few have closer games your inability to find a game is acceptable apparently

I'm jsut pointing out exactly what will be said by those saying "pugs are getting stomped by premades and we need our own queue so we don't lose as much anymore"

I know... It was still cold. Now if it was also heartless, that would be a major problem.

It's the exact problem everyone always points out when someone posts a "new" thread about pugs needing their own queue and it's either dismissed or completely ignored.

Since you guys are so super-hardcore good, why don't you drop down to more challenging builds so your elo doesn't get to unreasonable levels.

...when I start getting "failed to find" I put away the VTR, CTF3D, SHD, and Jenner and I play trials for a bit.

It seems to sort things out nicely and I feel challenged again (It's amazing how HARD you have to work for 750dmg in a trial...)

Seriously, I challenge each of you to run the Trial HGN for a few nights and see where it puts you...

Nah, I agree that something had to be done about it but I don't believe that tossing lions into the lambs teaches anyone anything and I will admit that my post was a bit of a trap laced with immense sarcasm. It is a good thing that this game is still in closed beta so that things like this can be tested though...oh wait, {Scrap}. Anyway, aren't you all about the Star Citizen hype train and planning to ditch this game for this holy messiah and savior that is known as Star Citizen?

I think the easy answer is to copy the "skills" of the basic "DC/C-Bill farmer".

I guess my energy boats (which are useless btw, just read the forums) Orion, Bmasters that use ACs, LLs, LRMs, SRMs, and even MGs are "super good builds", or my Tbolts. Those are uber builds right?

In the right hands any mech is dangerous and "good"

Let me guess, your mastered ECMcommando, PPCcent, ECMspider, ECMcicada, AC40jag, PPCjester?

If pugging:
-click "Trial Mechs"
-choose one
-click launch

If 4-man'ing:
-click "Trial Mechs"
-choose one (avoid the desire to all pick the same one)
-click launch

...then come back and tell me you aren't challenged and you've been maintaining your prior W/L ratio.

Within the group that I play with, I've even put together a quick LeaderBoard where we track our Trial antics and accomplishments and I would suggest you folks having "failed to find" issues do likewise. (Top DMG is between 750-900 with 6+ kills for all current variants, btw. Think you can do better?)
