Stats are overrated! Just do it! Inspirational scene coming...

It ended badly. Very badly. I then tried my Victor and "BLERG". There were no survivors. I will lay off the lights and the assaults and hone my medium-fu 'til I'm back in the swing of things. I'm sorry Commandos... forgive my incapability... I also apologise to all team mates who had to suffer the sight.

Don't mock the picture, it is the unofficial mascott of the Firestarter!

Maybe I feel that way, because I mentioned the mech looked like a Kooala bear, but still the pick is awesome.

Darn straight :D.

That Kooala should be on every Firestarter when decals launch LOL. GJ Bishop, a mascot is born. Good thing the mech turned out good LOL.

dude it's my TS3 avatar and if they ever get around to decals, will be the custom art for my FS9-H. (Though I lightened the belly fur on my avatar)

Darn straight I like that!

Really, the JR7-F was never quite dead, since it was (and for the moment still is) the premier energy light (though future Firestarters could challenge it). Since energy doesn't care about ECM, and focused, accurate fire beats random, lock-based fire in the hands of a skilled pilot, the JR7-F could still compete quite well against ECM lights.

Except that at the time, Streaks aimed at the CT only. The "focused, accurate fire" was coming from the Raven 3L's Streaks, not from the Jenner F that was spreading damage with its lasers.

Jenners were really, truly dead when the Raven 3L was released. It was only later that they were revived, slowly, as other changes came into the game.

I have to disagree. Both my D and F Jenners were able to kill Ravens in 1v1 fights reliably (the D using 2x SRM4s, during the splashdamagapocalypesaggedon). The only thing that's changed in that regard is the SRM D build is now very unreliable and BAP enables successful SSRM builds to replace it.

That's a factor of pilot skill, not Mech functionality. The reality is that had you been using a Raven 3L back in those days, you would have been even more deadly than you were while using your Jenners.

When evaluating Mech quality, you have to disregard your own personal experience because your skill as a pilot - whether good or bad - can dramatically affect your results.

Back in those days, the SRM-4 was dramatically inferior to the Streak SRM-2. The difference was so stark that a Raven 3L could often defeat a Jenner D without even bothering to use its Medium Lasers. There were basically 10 points of guaranteed CT damage in every volley.

Given the speeds involved and the difficulty of keeping Medium Lasers on target, that pair of Streak SRM-2s was almost enough to beat a Jenner F. Not quite, but the Raven 3L's Medium Lasers easily made up the difference and then some.

Don't forget that the Raven 3L also had borked hit boxes to go along with its overpowered Streaks. With equal skill pilots, it was just no contest.
