smh, for the love of god, please, stop encouraging new players to run a 60 LRM stalker with a XL engine. They don't have the knowledge to understand LRMs, they are a burden to their team in an assault, they have no modules which are essential for a good LRM boat, and XL in a stalker is really awful.

It's fine as a champion mech as you have experience then and can change the loadout but please...change the trial mech...

New players will die fast, no matter what you give them.

But remember trial isn't just for noobs. For example, I don't have an LRM boat in any of my mech bays and I really like using the trial Stalker for a bit of variety. It's a very nice build if you know how to play it.

A lot new players don't understand LRM Locks and how to set up firing groups. Additionally the champion stalker has paper thin back armor. Guess where I hit the stalker c at in my light all the time?
Needs to be a tutorial game sessions:
How to move with mechs
How to fire direct fire
How to fire LRMS and streaks
How to USE ECM ,JAM ECM, USEs for BAP
These 4 missions should let you choose a mech enter a tral area and walk you through mock combat with an easy to defeat AI mech. The AI Mech should stop periodically so the person can read listen to the tutorial.
Then at least the new players might last 45 seconds in game in combat versus 12 seconds.

Perhaps I am too experienced, but I don't own a single Assault. The last time I tried the Trial Stalker, I did horrible in it. This one? EASY MODE. My god, the rain of LRMs mops up the kills! And an over-the-top win/loss record. Apparently I excel at support. Too bad I am a brawler at heart.

If you want to try an LRM boat, you should really be in a catapult

im popping these trial stalkers like free candy today, barely 100 damage and the side torso goes "pop"!

Except for the last game, the Stalker-C seems OK.
Last game, fired all LRMs, got MULTIPLE hits, end of game was told I had 5 assists with....

25 damage.

I usually do LRM mechs and I think it works just fine. It might not be perfect for everyone's playstyle, but I've had plenty of success with it.

Have you just started playing? I did not think so. This is a mech for advanced players in groups (with spotters), not for noobies in solo drops.

It's not a bad missile launcher. It's just completely not recommended for new players who want to try out the Assault class...

No such thing as a "burden to their team in an assault" because tonnage is unrestricted at the moment. I just played a game with 10 assaults on one team. When the new 3-3-3-3 system comes in, I would agree with you.
