Hi I just ordered a USB to 20 Button Interface

Plus buttons to make it work, I am going to try and build a interface for mech controls. I have no XP with any of this and was wondering if any one has any advice please ?
Once I receive it I will make a post of what , or what not to do )

Looks like it's pretty straightforward, probably has it's own software interface. Judging by just a glance, it appears you run the ribbon cable off, then split it into two wire pairs; one for positive, the other for ground. Then it basically acts as a pullup resistor on each circuit so when it's grounded out (by switching on) it registers the switch as toggled and sends the input to your machine via an HID interface.
Long story short, looks pretty easy with minimum muss or fuss.

Uh oh, i think i may have to start developing plans and have a go at a pit.this looks pretty sweet

I have done the same with a different interface.
the game will not recognise the inputs. the computer and flight sims will

What Gevurah said. Should be simple enough.
What interface are you using? I am assuming you have bound the inputs in MWO to the switch interface?

I have a couple of these:

MWO wouldn't recognize them, and even disregarded them when I tried to bind their controls to keyboard buttons with JoyToKey. So you may be in for a rough road ahead if MWO has global issues with this sort of thing and it isn't an issue just with the cougar MFDs.

hehe... of course MWO didn't 'recognize' them, you're supposed to use TARGET to program them to emulate whatever keyboard buttons you want. If you are manually binding your MFD's to any game, you're doing it wrong.
MWO works -just fine- with these, and they are easy to make scripts for. TARGET allows neat stuff beyond merely mapping keys though, but it does that task rather well.
