Can someone explain this to me? I feel like it has something to do with a certain Valve game, but in an effort to avoid looking like a complete {Dezgra} with assumptions, the question bears asking: Why do people talk about cake so much on this forum?
Though somewhat adequately explained before..
"Have some Cake" became the standard greeting for a thread once it entered
Kaetetôã, (A.K.A. K Town) from myself (and later many others) as it served a multitude of purposes, including, but not limited to:
1. Refreshment for the OP as the travel to the Deep Periphery can be exhausting and they were likely in need refreshment.
2. To somewhat placate the impending rage of the OP, as not only was their thread jettisoned, but the thread was so bad or had become so far off topic that it had been jettisoned to the deepest recesses of the forum.
3. To serve as a warning that the thread was about to become a travashamockery of itself (if it hadn't already) and from the point of being offered Cake, or receiving the
AoC greeting, that any hope of remaining topical, was lost.
Over the last year, Cake has evolved into meaning that a thread should be jettisoned or as a prediction of it's impending jettisoning to the Deep Periphery, and as the originator of "Have some Cake" I have been blessed with a forum tag..

It has also become represented in it's shorthanded image of
As has been mentioned, Cake is most adequately explained on page 10 of
"The greatest thread that ever was or will be" (A.K.A. The Gospel of the MODs, or The Gospel of Roadbeer) but is further explained
HERE.
Thank you for expressing interest in the Cake.
