I keep randomly getting these annying freezes, often occurring about one or two minutes into the game where the screen just locks up and the the sounds goes on repeat with a slight shift every few second.

Everything outside the game still works fine so it's not the PC that is crashing.

Sometimes the game manages to resume after a minute or so, but it's rare that it does.

I've had these issues pretty much since I stared playing the game but the rate of the occurrence seems random from patch to patch.

Looking at a few searches the issue seems to happen to others as well but no real fix seems to be available.

This happens from time to time. For many people if you alt tab out of the game and back in you can carry on playing.

I run it in full-window mode so I can't really alt tab out of it as the game does not minimize if run like that. (makes switching between desktop and game so much smoother tho)

Funky - Have you run the repair tool? If that doesn't help, I suggest submitting a support ticket with a DXDiag and Omicron log attached. Good luck with resolution.

Alt tabbing out and back in should work regardless of full screen or windowed mode. Only difference would be windowed mode should be instant. This freeze behavior seems to be on Nvidia GPUs in my experience with a Radeon 6850 GeForce 8800 and Nvidia 470 gtx, only the Radeon did not suffer this issue. Leave notepad open before game launch to give Windows something light to swap to.

I've had this fairly often, I just ctrl+alt+delete out click on the task manager and it throws me back into the game.

I've had this happen as well. Unfortunately though I have to usually kill the process and abandon my teammates to resume playing. I suspect it is because I am using an unsupported graphics card though.
