Why dont they have real customization like the weapons would look a bit different and you get to paint your mech. And why not through in build your own mech with different pieces from different mechs.

Because that would be crazy hard with artwork and coding and stuff.
Right?

because its not Battle tech relevent ... the weapons yes but no mechs are built from random parts of others... (except for exceptional cases) as they are built to fit one mech and one mech alone.. also paint was on a unit scale not an indivitual scale but a custom emblem after a set amount of exp is gained would make sence. they are trying to stay true to BT to referance this stuff you should check out Sarna.net and learn more about it before you start wanting things from other games implemented into a game with a lot of background way more than gundam or the others.

The custom emblem would make senses but still shouldn't be implemented due to the fact that people on the internet are children (and I'm not referring to just age here).
For those of you that have played any online games, be they PC or Console, you know the type of names people use. For both themselves and their "unit of choice".
I really wouldn't want to see the kind of emblems that would get slapped on a mech and doubt that PGI would want to, or could even do so if they did want to, commit the man-power necessary to police said art work before it got applied to the mech.

Too much work for the Devs. Be happy with what you get.

haha, I like the visual of some dummy pimping his mech out with dingle-balls and a jesus air freshener. My Hunchback's got 16 switches!!
I don't think it's a good idea to build custom mechs, but I do think that when you swap new weapons on you should see the weapon. I mean, when you put a PPC on your arm, the model should reflect the change. I can't imagine that would be too horrible for them, programming wise.
