Light Mech Skirmish Etiquette

I've been in numerous matches piloting my Spider where I am the last living person on my team. If I'm playing on a large map I will make a strong effort to dish out as much damage as possible hoping to either pull out a victory from the jaws of defeat or at least a draw.
This can take time, but I feel confident in my tactics on larger maps to get at least 1-3 more solo kills.
So what are everyone's thoughts on solo light pilots that extend a game? Is this mostly viewed as a selfish act? Or are people cool with it?

Honestly, I like watching a good light mech gnaw away at the remnants of a team.

Competitive players say that CDA-3M, SDR-5D, and RVN-3L using dual er large lasers and near max speed can pick on their ends well in skirmish.

Most of the time though, I'm the last one on a team that was thoroughly stomped and there's at least six enemies left. In those cases, I'll try to avoid contact until I find one 'Mech that's damaged enough to have a shot at killing. Then I'll jump into the middle of their death-ball and concentrate on that one until they turn me into a flaming wreck.

not quite the last mech left but had a match it was 3 of us vs 6 of them, me in a jenner, cicada and a raven on our side, all mediums and up on theirs in frozen city. we used cover and the fact they were strung out responding to our base cap (and didn't go to ours because they had both numbers and tonnage on their side so figured they'd mop us up for the win) and we ended up killing all 6. i had one orange leg left, raven and cicada were both under 50% health and missing pieces too. but we won.
but yeah if you're still up for the fight then do so to the best of your mech's abilities. the other people can quit the match whenever they want if they don;t like it (and maybe GASP- have to play a different mech for 1 match if they can;t use the one in the current match til you're dead- the horror!)

that being said, I've brought back 2-3 games from the jaws of de-feet in my spider 5K. just takes a little time, patients, and a lot of luck. best one ever was a 4 v 1 on alpine. they foolishly broke apart trying to chance me, all with heavy torso and leg damage. soon as they were solo, I turned the inner squirrel to maximum and chewed them apart. it's a great feeling winning like that. the adrenaline is awesome lol

This. If you actually fight and not just hide and power down then anyone who tells you to just die is an ego-***** who only cares about himself and not the team. Everyone is free to disconnect after he is dead. No time "wasted".

If you are in a skirmish, and you aren't actively fighting or trying to, you are griefing your team and the enemy team. Calling someone out for this isn't treason. Running and hiding is actually reportable.

Are they powered down? They're hiding...these people are terrible.
Are they running around? They're trying to kill someone...give them some time. If you don't like it, leave and play a different match (invest in a second seismic sensor you cheapskate

If the enemy outnumbers you 6 to 1 and some are at good health, I say yell YOLO and run in guns blazing. Might as well go out in a blaze of glory at that point. If your lucky and one mech is fairly baddly damaged, see if you can take him out before getting popped.

Treasonous provision of information to enemy combatants, also known as "bird-doging" is forbidden. This involves a player using the in-game chat to provide the enemy team with the locations of their own team mates. While we appreciate that some players may wish to have a round end early by calling out the location of an AFK team-mate, the risk that this could be used against an active participant of the match to deny them the use of cover and movement makes this a form of a griefing. You may declare a teammate AFK but not their coordinates or position.
