As I understand, tonnage limit is in the works. What worries me is that there is no mention of tonnage balancing.
Sure, you can limit the drop weight of premades, but what about SOLO pugs?
If there is no tonnage balancing, having tonnage limits mean nothing at all in a game with 24 solos or even just one or two premades.
You can still end up having 12 assaults on one side and 12 lights on the other.
Or maybe I'm just misinterpreting the message?? Please clarify. Thanks

We Need Tonnage Balancing Not Drop Limits

You're misinterpreting.
The tonnage limits apply team wide. Each premade has a maximum and minimum tonnage, and those are a like fraction of the total maximum/minimum tonnage. The matchmaker then fills the remainder of the team with solo puggers, fitting within the overall maximum and minimum tonnages.
So, using Random Numbers Pulled From My *** For Demonstrative Purposes Only Don't Argue The Damn Numbers:
Overall Team Minimum Tonnage: 600 tons
Overall Maximum Tonnage: 900 tons
Thus, a 4-man premade would have to fit within 4/12*600=200 and 4/12*900=300 tons. After this, the rest of the team is filled with solo puggers weighing in between 400 and 600 tons total.
This system allows premade groups of any size without causing any havoc in team vs. team tonnage.
It also means that you don't have very heavy or very light premade groups screwing with the overall team tonnage; though this also means that a premade lance won't be able to roll 4 lights or 4 assaults.
