Just saw this over at NGNG website. There are pictures and everything.

The new light mech is the Firestarter, 35 tons, jumps, 2 machineguns and 2 medium lasers, and 4 flamers (soon to be removed in record time for more medium lasers).

I want it.

The Hero "Ember" is 4 flamers, 4 machine guns. It is being released beside a flamer buff.

I'd suggest keeping the flamers for a few matches.

According to Russ, the Hero is 4 energy, 4 Ballistic, JJs, and 300 engine rating. No word as far as I know on AMS capability or number of JJs.

The c-bill variants coming later will probably be a mix of pure energy and energy/ballistic, all with 6 JJs stock, and the possibility of an ECM variant.

Looks good in theory with 4 energy and 4 ballistics and JJs. I bet that besides the Jenner we may have a new king of lights.

Oh tis my plan. especially since midday usually is less metatard populated, so one can actually have some fun, first!

The main variant, FS9-H, will most likely pack 6 energy and 2 ballistic hardpoints. Goodbye Jenner if this thing has the hitbox and size of a Commando or Spider.

I was wondering why this thing looked so familiar. That head. I could have sworn I had seen that head somewhere before on another mech.

Then I remembered where. An old concept art from the Atlas back in the beginning of MWO by Flying Debris/Alex Inglacias.

That looks really similar to those extreme Atlas heads that never got used.

Maybe not. One of the things they mentioned is getting changed are Flamers. They're supposed to make an enemy heat up faster, and do a bit more damage as well. You will still be limited to driving an enemy to only 90% heat.

Of all of the light mechs they could have added to the game from the 3025 and 2750 TRO books I was hoping we would get the Firestarter.

It has the best weapon loadout with lots of energy, and even MG's instead of missiles like most light mechs have, and jumps. It was what I hoping for.

Hitboxes and quirks are the only things we don't yet know.

Size data.

I took my spider into training grounds, the height is roughly equivalent, and thus from the pictures I've seen the Firestarter will have the same profiles as the Commando. That is it'll be a wide broad frontal profile with a very slim side profile, it is going to be interesting to see them in action.
