Anybody else have this issue? Presets are working fine. So if I set to "Low" preset, the changes are made, but afterwards if I go to "Custom" tab and crank the textures to "Very High" while leaving the rest at low, It shows "Custom" after that, but actually the settings are reverted to the default settings, medium.

This was present in the last PTR, so I'm very surprised that a bug like this made it to the release.

When is the preset reset to Medium? Is it upon getting in match, or after saving? I could not reproduce this issue. However, if you can reproduce this, do sent a ticket to support describing the issue, along with your dxdiag, and we'll work on it as soon as we can

I have ecsacly same problem.

Normally I play with all low but textures medium. Now custom settings tell me that I run with everything low but texture, but in game I have FPS of 12-17 instead normally 20-30 and lots of effects and etc what should be seen in low settings.

Actually it's pretty easy to replicate on my end. Select preset low, save. In the main menu screen, your mech will have terrible, blocky geometry, bad lightning, indicating the low settings have indeed been saved.

Now, you go to graphics settings and select custom tab. Crank only the texturing to "Very high". Save. Suddenly not only your mech textures will be better, it will also have better geometry and lightning. Drop into a game and check your surroundings, shadows are enabled. Indicating it switched to medium settings.

This is also probably the cause of all the "My FPS is now worse!" topics popping up here. I can't believe this passed through your QA.

So here's a video about the issue. What I'm doing in the video:
  • Showing you that the graphics are set to the preset "Medium".
  • Set graphics to "Low" preset.
  • The mech is all blocky, the settings are saved correctly.
  • I change the textures from "Low" to "Very High" (I can't click on Very High without selecting High first btw.)
  • Not only the textures are better, but my mech has better geometry and lighting.
  • I drop in Training Grounds.
  • This nothing like all low except the textures. The graphics are set to either "Medium" or "High". My FPS is painfully low.

I have noticed a 10-20 point drop in FPS when using custom (advanced) settings vs. presets. I selected settings "low" from the presets and FPS was increased by 10-20 FPS. I changed one advanced setting and my FPS dropped 10-20 FPS, so I immediately changed it back to it's previous setting and my FPS remained low. Then I changed settings in the drop down box from "custom" to "low" and the FPS immediately increased back up 10-20 FPS.

i ve posted this on another similar thread and im posting it here too just to get it fixed asap.

1)notice the textures as i swap between low and high
2)notice that while post processing is set to low ingame it does not apply. you can see the lightshafts the depth of field blur ect
3)notice that effects are set to high but in game missiles have no trails and PPCs have no extra effects around the "lightning"

I'm having an issue where Custom setting just are not working. The persets are working, but when I use Custom settings they are ingnored and Very High Setting are used instead.

Same here, custom settings gives me a very good looking game but horrible fps.

Presets are working as they should then? My only gripe with this patch, is that the preset "low" (although I had custom before patch with some settings at medium) is getting me half the fps it did pre-patch. 25-30fps --> 8-12fps.

Surely, with this patch fixing the UI, FPS in-game shouldn't be affected? Problem is not with my end then, is it?

I can confirm this issue. The UI actually doesn't save my own settings (all low except "Textures") and overrides them ingame with higher settings. Also, even when I select "Low" effects settings and save, all the weapon effects look like "High" to "Very High" settings. The framerate has therefore dropped for me by almost 20fps.

This bug was present on the PTR and I reported it numerous times in the respective feedback forum. I am surprised that this is still there.
