After clicking the launch button, the loading screen appears, and I am thrown back to the mech management screen. My mech meanwhile is sitting in a match with no driver. This started after the new patch. Thanks a bunch for the new U.I., now nothing works. Looks great though. I can't play anything in the meantime.

Did you try running the repair tool ?
Are your drivers updated ?
If neither of those help submit a support ticket, the techgeeks on the other side can come up with solutions sometimes or at least note it down as "needs fixin'".
