So according to the download the models for the new mech, the Firestarter, are A, H, K and S

A is 4 x flamers, 2 x medium lasers and 2 x small lasers.
H is 4 x flamers, 2 x medium lasers and 2 x machine guns.
K is 2 x flamers, 1 x large laser and 2 x small lasers.
S is the 3049 refit with endosteel, 4 x flamers, 2 x medium lasers and 1 x small laser. It also carries an AMS and a beagel.

It is the S1 that carries the ECM, it isn't in the game.

They all jump and they all start at 97 km/h. K looks like the poor cousin with the least weapon slots.

Some 3000 firestarters were built before the Succession wars making it a commonly available mech. Regardless of the fact that old firestarters can be found in every pirate and/or mercenary company of note, new firestarters are currently built on Skye currently held by Federated Suns and by Coventry Metal Works in the Lyran Alliance.

If you look at Smurfy the K is rocking 8 energy hardpoints.. 8 spls... with JJs.. and a xl 295.. beast

The A looks like it'll be the one rarely seen, 8 Energy HPs but with worse layout than the K, it'll prolly have quicker turrning or more torso twist as a perk.. wont really help it though

nah, H well be the odd ball you rarely see, I think. people who want ballistics will get the E (cause it's awesome). I expect to see spl/sl boats out there soon, making fat slow mechs cry tears of deliciousness with the speed of a spider and the FIREPOWER OF A SMALL LASER HUNCHBACK. yeah. it's going to wreck face the more I think about it.

and as for the A, oddly enough, may be quite common because of the arms. sure they aim better, but the firestarter's arms are large and shield like. I get BOTH my arms taken almost every game in the ember, but still have torso guns to pew pew with. tbh,I won't buy the 6 laser/arms variant for that reason.

So the Ember might actually be the best variant? Pure energy boats are going run fairly hot, I was looking forward to the C-bill versions having more dakka.

ember is strong, I'll attest to that. but I won't call it world's strongest till I get ahold Of the6 small/2med laser build. that sounds wicked

Apparently the K's specialty will be arm-mounted weapons, since Smurfy has it with 6 on the arms and 2 on the CT rather than 4 on the arms and the rest on the various torsos.

I'm thinking you'd want the Ember, the K, and the S for maximum role variety. The Ember has more dakka and less energy, the K has more arm-energy, and the S has double AMS.

nah,  read my above post Levi.  Firestarter arms get taken out fast. you do not want 75% Of your firepower ripped off because you lost your big arse arm shields.  also, the arms are not that flexible. max angles and speed are rather low
