I Downloaded the new Patch and got UI2.0 and LOVE what I see cannot play yet until off from work. When I was in the mechlab I was looking for the firestarter mech to buy but did not see it. I saw all of the other mechs for sale. Where can I spend my MC on it? is it a special tab? I did see the cicada X5 for low MC next 24 hrs though extremely tempted. Ebarrassed I could not find it.

Easiest way was in the Store, under Battlemechs. It was the second mech on my list.

The problem is the store won't give you any info, stats, or 3D model.

The alternative is to click Mechlab, then "Owned Mechs" dropdown, change that to "Purchasable."

Then click Hero, Ember.

Yes I succeeded, I love the mech Put a 290 XL in it 4 med lasers added a ton of ammo for the MG's and will be keeping the flamers to swap out for the medium lasers on occasion , I noticed they ( Flamers ) smash light mechs in the training grounds quickly. UI2.0 I like it a little slower in the mech lab but I am getting used to finding what I am looking for. Nice that we can set weapon groups in there now. Found the paint that was the last thing I was looking for. Bought the Yen Lo added ammo and 2 more sinks switched to endo-steel and FF. Max armor. I love this game cannot wait for the Clans and the earned C-bills for weapon upgrades modules. Right now my only wish is for Premium time to stop counting when I log out other than that the game absolutely Rocks! ( I might just buy monthly blocks for the 2500 or what not ) and the game as a whole seems to be getting better by the month. Noticed some disco issues at the end of matches game not ending on disco's.

don't worry, took me about 20 minutes to work out how to buy it, was thrown off by all the buy buttons in my mechlab on the trial mechs.
